  1. If there is room I'd like to get involved in SC as well. Haven't done it before but happy to give it a go! No team name yet.
  2. Was that on the AFL Fantasy website? I thought we were using the Real DT one this year?
  3. Delistings happen every year, once the player is out of contract the club is free to do what they want. If they are in contract then the club is obliged to pay them out, as we saw with Michael Evans. If a player would prefer to play in the local leagues then that is their choice (I know a lot of players get paid very well in the country leagues). My argument is in regards to FA and recent events (such as players who have been in the system 1-2 years asking to be traded to a certain club). The AFL and AFLPA created FA to be more in line with what happens in the USA, however as mentioned in the USA in sports such as NFL, teams can trade a player wherever they like. It gives the players greater freedom to move and also gives the teams greater freedom to build the best side they can. I personally don't like FA, but if they are going to try and make it even easier for players to move then they also have to make it easier for clubs to trade. That's my opinion anyway, which we are all entitled too.
  4. I never said all of them do, I agree some don't get paid that much. But I'd imagine those players would be happy to play anywhere to get more opportunities so being traded wouldn't bother them too much. The reason I want this is because of FA. If they took away free agency then I'd be happy for it to stay the way it is. However, at the moment we have players with all the power and the clubs can't do anything and have basically no power. It has to be a two-way street.
  5. The fact is being an AFL footballer is not a 'normal' job. The players get a fantastic salary(most of them) at s young age. They get looked after and have great perks and semi-celebrity status. So to have that privilege they should have to deal with what comes their way. The AFL is now just a business, as a club I would want the freedom to improve the business. Being able to trade freely would do that. If the AFLPA wanted free agencies then the clubs should have freedom also.
  6. I am so glad they no longer run this club. I hope we never go through something like that again. Let the skilled footy minds deal with coaching/recruiting. Leave admin to the business minds.
  7. Imagine if we start playing finals regularly again... we might crack 50,000 one day!
  8. He would've got rubbed out for weeks on that hit now.
  9. I think he slipped due to his combine results. Which is good for us, he seems like a natural footballer.
  10. They both played a lot as sub so it's a bit harsh. JKH had a 25 touch game from memory. I'm actually amazed Salem played as much as he did with very little preseason, Roos must really rate him.
  11. Grimes is great as a defender. I really don't rate him at all in the midfield so I hope that can leave him out of there.
  12. I definitely think we should leave anyone under 23 out of the leadership group. That's not saying they aren't capable, it's just better for their development. For me it should be: C- Jones VC- Dawes and Dunn Leadership group- Lumumba, Vince, Cross That should be enough, maybe add Grimes and Garland if not.
  13. So this morning I decided to go down to the Paleo den cafe after my gym work out to check it out. And of course I saw a bunch of the boys there enjoying their paleo diet. Viney, Salem, Toumpas, Petracca, Brayshaw, Frost, Newton and Stretch were all there. Seem like a good bunch of guys.
  14. We will likely take a ruck in the rookie draft. Didn't Lowden get delisted?
  15. It makes it hard to get excited about the draft. Young kids starting their sporting careers tonight and another's has ended along with his life.
  16. St Kilda being scared off by psych testing could be the greatest thing to happen to MFC.
  17. Yeah I thought about starting a thread on this as well. Very sad news, hopefully they have a minute silence at the Draft tonight. RIP
  18. I'm happy either way. We could do with both a power forward and another mid. Love having picks 2 and 3 but look forward to the day we have pick 18 instead.
  19. That is one thing I've thought of as well. Scully was small.....like a rat, Morton was probably the skinniest player to be drafted since Josh Thurgood and the picture of Gysberts trying to do some triceps weights makes me laugh every time. Thank god these guys are big boys.
  20. Would be a great result if we take Petracca and Brayshaw and Mckenzie slips to us at pick 40. I think we will go tall at that pick in any case.
  21. My hopes: #2 Petracca #3 Brayshaw #40 McKenzie #53 Langdon
  22. I hope we go Petracca #2 and Brayshaw #3 as that is what I picked on that comp on the website 2 weeks ago. Bet I get screwed.
