PICKS # 26 & 31 (formerly # 23 & 28)
I think it may be to do with the fact Toby Bedford is an academy prospect. There's a chance someone would bid before pick 36, but unlikely before pick 28.

THE 2018 AFL NATIONAL DRAFT
Now that the trade period is done and we have picks 23 & 28 this thread should be more interesting. Having a look at the top 30 phantom drafts, there seems to be a few big-bodied mids that may be available in the 20's which could be a good pick-up now Tyson is gone. Here are some I think are possibilities at these picks: - Sam Sturt - rangey half-forward - Luke Valente - reliable mid. Good on both sides. - Ed McHenry - hard-running small forward - Xavier Duursma - mid/half-back who is a smooth mover. - Ely Smith - big-bodied bullocking midfielder. - Xavier O'Halloran - outstanding athlete who tested well at the combine. And of course I can't leave out academy prospect Toby Bedford who we will hopefully take with pick 54 and looks like a lively small forward.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Come to think of it, this replaced Howey's hangers....... seems any player that has entertainment named after them leaves. Perhaps we run Kennedy-Harris hangers next year?

Delisting, Trade and FA discussion 2018
Correct. Though it depends on where Bedford gets bid on. If someone bids on him before pick 28, then we will have to use that pick on him. If it is after pick 28 but before pick 54, then we use pick 54 and pick 62 slides slightly. If it's after pic 54 then happy days.

When I heard we were after pick 28 I was pretty excited. Happy to see we've managed to get the deal done.

Bye Jesse.... it is what it is. I'd love to see us give GC pick 6 and pick 36 and get back May & pick 24.- Farewell Jesse Hogan

4 way trade maybe? Dees, Freo, Brissy and Suns- Farewell Jesse Hogan
People keep saying this but it is not different to any other club. Grundy goes down, Collingwood are stuffed. Kennedy or Darling goes down, Eagles are stuffed. Martin goes down, Richmond are stuffed.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
They got up one spot so technically they received pick 15, Burton and Mayes for Wingard.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
If we get a player Ed Langdon would be the one I want. Obviously Cerra or Brayshaw would be a dream, but I highly doubt this will happen. Langdon will add another high pressure player in our froward line and some needed speed.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Scully's ankle is [censored] and Wingard is a downhill skier. Plus they are losing Burton who is a very promising young gun. Had a poor season this year but was a gun in 2017.- Change of Display Names

With my namesake already departed, I've decided to go early on a new display name based on the impending arrival of KK. @Demonland could you please update my name from Is Dom Is Good to Collar-Jazz-Knee Photo to follow....- Electrifying Aboriginal forwards

WTF are Freo up to? They are seriously a shambles.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Agreed ProDee. I'm comfortable with 5 and 23 as I think we can make that work for us in some way such as a swap with the Crows. Pick 5 by itself is massive unders in my view and would be a fail by Mahoney and Co., even if it nets May & KK. There is being pragmatic and then being a pushover and this would be pushover levels. I was comfortable with the Lever deal last year as he is an outstanding talent and two later first round picks are different to a top 5 pick, but it is important we get fair valu for a player of Hogan's talent.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
The only other option I see as palatable is if we already have an in principle agreement to send pick 5 and a 2nd rounder to Adelaide for picks 8 & 13.- Rumour File
Sounds more like stand over tactics.....- Farewell Jesse Hogan
That's what Bell is attempting to do.... unfortunately for him he would never be able to reach- Farewell Jesse Hogan
