WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
He is the same height as Nankervis already and will probably grow a cm or two by 21 you would think. Not saying you're wrong about him being a poor choice, just disagree with this part of the post.

Poll: Who do you want with our first two picks?
- Poll: Who do you want with our first two picks?
My theory is that Freo will do the following: 1. Wait and see what happens up to their pick 7 and assuming there's no bids on Henry to that point they will select their first option (likely Deven Robertson or Luke Jackson). 2. They will then offer us pick 10 and 22 as they are then guaranteed pick 8 and Henry by matching a bid with pick 58. 3. We will then use pick 10 on someone like Brodie Kemp and Pick 22 on Pickett, Weightman or Elijah Taylor.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
I'm very nervous that we are going to take him with pick 3. History says taking talls in the top 10 is a 50/50 proposition at best... going with small/medium type players is a much safer bet. I also think it's better to trade or pick up mature key talls as free agents rather than draft them. I'm really hoping we take Young with pick 3 and then if Jackson is there at 8 then go for it. FYI my brother is mates with Luke Jackson so I'll do my best to get inside gossip....- Demons running hills
Fair enough.... I doubt I'd do 20 x 400's....- Demons running hills
Does Fawkner park have a big hill? I thought it was fairly flat- 2020 AFL Fixture
Yep 100%. Plus the Eagles two less weeks. Would much rather play the top teams early- Phantom Drafts
Gee Young's kicking is a thing of beauty. Will be one of the best quarter-back style defenders in the comp- 2019 AFL National Draft Thread
Young and Weightman for me. Young adds a bit of leg speed and elite disposal. Weightman adds leg speed and x-factor.- Jack Martin
I agree it's unlikely, but you never know. I highly doubt the Suns will re-draft him now.- Jack Martin
I personally think that's pretty fair. That 2nd round pick will probably end up around 30. That would value Martin around pick 18. Even if the 2nd round pick is 25, it still values Martin around pick 15.- Jack Martin
True. But surely when it becomes obvious that deal is dead in the water you get something done.- Jack Martin
I don't understand how the Blues would not accept Martin and pick 15 for pick 9? Especially when you've gone down the route of offering a deal and telling Martin you want him at your club. If I was Jack Martin I would be seriously pi**ed. Say what you want about Mahoney, at least when we chase players we make sure to get the deals done, even if people feel we pay slight overs. I really hope we can use Carlton's ineptitude against them and lure Martin to the Dees.- Jack Martin
Would love if we somehow added him in the pre season draft! Play him forward and wing to add some silk.- Gun target - Key Forward recruit?
I think having Tomlinson provides flexibility, as he can easily play as a tall forward and can take a grab. Still think we are a bit light on for talls with the following: Gawn - 208cm Bradtke - 204cm Preuss - 203cm Petty - 197cm O McDonald - 196cm Weideman - 195cm Lever - 195cm T McDonald - 194cm Tomlinson - 194cm May - 193cm I guess it depends how Petty, Weideman & too a lesser extent O McDonald come on next season. If we can get more input from all 3 then we may be ok.- The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Very surprised the Giants couldn't get a deal done for pick 3. I find it hard to see them satisfying us with the picks they have, so not sure what the point of trading up to 6 was about. Disappointed we didn't pick up a key forward, but I'd be interested to see what list spots we will have available post the draft, perhaps there's a delisted free agent or rookie we are looking at.- Splitting Draft Pick 3
Why would Freo do that?- Splitting Draft Pick 3
I love this- HATCH MATCH & DESPATCH 2019
Dockers massive winners from that in my mind. Much happier with what we had to give up for Ed Langdon who's output is very similar to Hill.- Splitting Draft Pick 3
Agree. Mahoney and co. would've been bent over. I have liked their trade period up until now, but this was our chance to play serious hardball and get a gun player. F**k a late first round pick next year. What a joke.- Splitting Draft Pick 3
I agree. They already have a midfield that consists of Taranto, Ward, Coniglio, Kelly, Hopper, Whitfield, Williams & Toby Greene. They've also got Caldwell, Hateley & O'Halloran also tryin to get into the side and they would also be adding pick 3 plus Green this year. Caldwell is the one I want. 6 & Caldwell for 3. Take it or leave it.- Splitting Draft Pick 3
According to Sam Mclure.... I know he isn't the most reliable. I assume the Giants may have mentioned it, who knows.- Splitting Draft Pick 3
So apparently we knocked back the offer of pick 6 and GWS 2020 1st rounder.- Need for another ruckman?
I'm not saying we are useless without Gawn, I'm just saying most sides have the following: 1. Premier ruck 2. Back up who can forward and ruck if needed 3. Back up ruck 4. Developing ruck who is 2-3 years away- Splitting Draft Pick 3
Agree. I was being conservative. Potentially it could be more like 10, which would push our pick to 25 which is even worse! I would only switch 3 to 6 if there is a player involved and it's overs in our favour. Otherwise we tell GWS to get stuffed and cough up pick 6 for Green. - Poll: Who do you want with our first two picks?
