  1. 6. Gawn (easily BOG). 5. Jetta 4. T Mac 3. O Mac 2. J.Hunt 1. Oliver.
  2. We need a forward/ruck. Rory Lobb or Peter Wright. Also need a quality finisher. Joshua Kelly or Hoskin-Elliott. I think the GWS reserves are fairly ripe for the picking as well.
  3. High on our list of needs is a forward/ruck man. Lobb would be ideal. Hopefully we at least ask the question.
  4. I couldn't care less if they get a PP. We aren't in the first round. It isn't going to affect us all that much. We will probably offload our second rounder anyway. Good on Brissy if they get a PP. However, I would argue that Brisbane aren't in their current position due to a lack of talent - but more so retaining the quality talent they did have. I am not sure a priority pick is going to solve any long term issues. They have had guys like Yeo, Docherty and Polec leave the club. That probably suggests there are some broader issues they need to get right. Much like us prior to PJ.
  5. He will walk for next to nothing anyway. If Essendon won't let him go (against his wishes), then he can simply threaten legal action. I doubt they would have a leg to stand on. The fact that worksafe fined Essendon for providing an unsafe environment, won't help them. I don't think they could keep any of their players against their wishes. Players hold the cards here.
  6. I saw that. At the time it was just one of many that went unnoticed. But that one in particular really p*ssed me off. It was very obvious.
  7. That is probably the word for it 'temperament'. I notice it in many sports. Sportsman who just don't seem to panic. It is quite noticeable in boxers. Some boxers just go about their business, they don't flinch, they don't even seem to care, they just seek and destroy (evident in Gennady Golovkin). I see the same in Clayton Oliver. He doesn't seem remotely phased by oncoming traffic, pressure, etc. He is still looking to get the hands out when other players would be having a panic attack.
  8. Would be a top 3 back man right now if played there. Is a promising forward. Has shown enough to even suggest he is worth 1 million a year. Given he can play at both ends, I see no problem with offering the kid a stack. Buddy is on a stack, Rance is on a stack, and this kid can do it at either end. Not just forward, and not just back. Could probably even be a rover. I've seen him ruck our forward line effectively as well (at times). There is nothing Hogan cannot do. You don't go getting rid of those type of players. Not for Fyfe, or for anyone.
  9. If there is one thing the McDonald brothers have done right today it is kick the ball long and high to a pack. That is all they need to do.
  10. It is not so much that I rate Spencer. More so that I don't rate Daw or Vickery. Daw isn't a footballer, he is just an athlete, I don't think he adds much at all. He is a fine looking specimen, but if you take the muscles away, would he be on an AFL list? I don't think he would. North have persisted for a long time. Longer than I would've. Vickery has obvious mental issues for mine. Clearly he is capable. But for a guy who was recruited as a forward, he has only managed 156 goals in 118 games. If he wasn't a high draft pick he'd be playing country football. He might be able to win games off of his own boot, but that clearly doesn't happen very often. Mentally he isn't up to playing consistently good football IMO. Holmes. I don't mind Holmes. I like him as a project player, and I think he is going to make it. But he isn't ready to ruck full time, and that is what a back up ruckman might have to do. They might have to ruck full time. He isn't ready yet. I am not against taking him, just that if Gawn did go down (god forbid), then Holmes still isn't ready. Spencer is ready. He will be able to fill the role. That is all he needs to do. He doesn't need to set the world on fire, he just needs to provide a contest, and I think he can do that.
  11. Without hesitation I would take Spencer ahead of the other three. Daw is still just a raw athlete, and I would be surprised if it didn't stay that way. Vickery - I would question whether he is mentally up to playing top level sport. Holmes is largely unproven, but probably the most promising of the three. Still going to take another couple of years though. Spencer on the other hand is a ready to go ruck man. Another pre-season under his belt against Gawn, and he will be a more than capable back up ruck man. Ideally though, the club should be trying to land a forward/ruck, in the mould of Peter Wright, Rory Lobb, or even Nathan Vardy.
  12. Thanks mate. More often than not you are spot on the money.
  13. So they should be. If we were silly enough to pay overs for Melksham - and not factor in a drug ban, then we are odds on to deliver a first round pick for Hibberd. They would be silly not to also ask for our second round also. They just might get it.
  14. Our midfielders were absolutely disgraceful today. Not only didn't they make full use of Max Gawn, but they consistently burnt Watts on the lead. Pathetic. Thankfully Watts kept trying, and eventually he was rewarded. Will be a much easier game to watch when quality like Petracca and Oliver roam that midfield.
  15. Not just 427, but 427 and still playing top notch football. Even if he isn't the type of guy I could see myself getting along with, as a footballer he is everything and more. Very well prepared, well conditioned, and puts in 110%. Good luck Boomer.
  16. After watching it in full I didn't think it was too bad. Sounds like a lot of old country footballers I know. Football tends to become a bitter and sensitive subject for a lot of older, dominant and egotistical personalities. They do get bitter, hold grudges, bag people out, talk down the next generation, etc. I don't find anything wrong with it, I think it is more common - than not. But they do have a lot to add. I look at country football clubs now, and a lot of the juniors are run and coached by kids just out of juniors - kids who haven't had life experience, and aren't really fit to teach kids. So I think Jacko makes some good points. If you take away the unnecessary verbal bashing of a few people, and actually listen to what Jacko has to say, he isn't too far off the mark.
  17. Of course they are important. I don't think it is a matter of helping them - or not helping them. But a matter of finding the right balance. .
  18. The club is giving players the opportunity to develop. Some come on - others don't. Nathan Jones is a fine example of a self motivated player, who developed under conditions where others probably didn't. I think the conditions at the MFC are far better now. If players want to make it they have that opportunity. Viney is developing well, Hunt, OMAC, Garlett and Vince have shown improvement at the club. Schwartz just blowing off steam, he is probably talking through his pocket.
  19. Get out of Trac's way FFS.
  20. Brayshaw is a like a vacuum cleaner. Either side of the body, doesn't matter, he just scoops it up in one swoop. Such great signs.
  21. Riewoldt tunneled Viney - nothing. Kennedy gets pushed in the back (without the ball) - nothing.
  22. Grimes is strong as a forward. He is presenting very well.
  23. Credit to Tyson for putting himself in a position to kick that - after his turnover 5 mins ago.
  24. Jayden Hunt is that good.
  25. St Kilda fans must love watching Petracca.
