1956. Yep should know better but 3 in a row, don't give a stuff if its NAB or intra club just happy to see them turning it on. Reality will bite soon enough.
-
Nope. Extremely confident. The saints look like the local 3rds on a bad day. We haven't quite worked out how to kill a team but will learn today. Also into the second red with a few mates. Not Rose coloured glasses, more your Pinot coloured.
-
Saints wont beat Essendon or Carlton. They are pathetic. I reckon Manangatang 3rds would beat them. This is going to blow out 40 points at a minimum.
-
3 Goals from 50 metre penalties. Perhaps we have learned how to get undeer the oppositions skin. Respect! Not just making up numbers.

Apart from Michie the rest played out the game. Michie went of in the 3rd and did not play the last quarter. Harry was pretty lively but tried to do to much without great support. Looks ready. Casey lost a lot of players from last year and it should not be forgotten that Willy won the VFL premiership as a stand alone team. But notwithstanding Casey looked under prepared part of which I figured was that they hardly know each others game style. Had a fair few AFL players in the team that would barely even know their VFL team mates.

Enjoy your trip.

Probably why Michie was put on notice.

He was okay but tried to do to much. Forgot how fast he is but got caught too much. He is possibly playing tomorrow. Was very prolific in the first quarter but obviously not spending all his petrol today and did not even play the last quarter.

Could Melbourne have Western Bulldogs-like resurgence in 2016?
Samael replied to Curry & Beer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not best pleased with this. To my mind it means we have played a reasonably representative team that will finish 14th and a team of pups. Neither of them we dispatched with anything like a 10th or better team should have. I believe we will finish 10th (cant finish 9th because Richmond). Gawn and our improved mid field is the key. If we can sustain the beard factor we will do well. I for one think that Oliver, if he can control himself will be another factor. Difficult to cover Jones, Viney, Oliver and Michie. They are the imperative to success that and Hogan finishing. Okay I threw Viv in there as troll bait but his 20 minutes on Sunday did not harm his promotion prospects. Some good things to look forward to IMO. Repeat IMO. -

I thought it was strange he only got a quarter as well. Same with Stretch not getting a run at all. I would have thought that these games should be where these players are given a maximum go. Thought Michie was very useful given his brief time on the ground. Has very quick hands and hits targets.

We did play them in the NAB games last year at Ballarat. We beat them, again they were well undermanned but we led all day.
-
What? Against the odds? We played a VFL side.
-
We should rest Gawn, Hoges and Salem for the Dogs

Wow, from one inconsequential NAB practice match. One swallow and its summer. Personally I would like to see some consistency from our team. -

Intraclub Practice Match - Friday 19th February, 2016
Samael replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jones did not play nor did JKH. Dom Tyson was good. No team sheets so had no idea who some players were. Salem was good in the second half. The white team was definitely the second string, they even swapped a couplle innto the white team from the blue team with Watts one of the trades. He went alright btw. -
Dead right BBO. That poster would probably out sell most others. Do yourself a favour and go watch Darebin Falcons one Sunday, Daisy, Tayla and Aastra from the Bulldogs plus a few others put on a terrific show and you would be surprised just how many get along to the games. I realise that its a fair hike but get your chauffeur to drive and there are plenty of wines to be had. Great bunch of people.

No. Spoken to him once. Just know people who know people. I take an interest in Viv because of his time at freo and more particularly Peel. Then moved here and he was over here. People at Peel will tell you what a great talent he is but has had serious injuries so never gets a real run at it. Even at MFC he split an eyelid first game and could not wear contact lens, dropped to the 2s and gets a broken Jaw. Never let the set backs get in his way. Just hope he gets another go but that looks like some sort of injury will be the main hope which no one wants. His biggest problem is he is such am introvert. Looking forward to his year and watching Tyson this year. Hes another good talent.
-
Nope To the rookie list. Stupid move in my view.
-
Will be delisted and put on the rookie list.
-
Michie to Rookie list?
-
His first two year ar Dockers he virtually played no games in either the 1st or at Peel due to serious foot injuries (same injury as Trengrove). Then he got a half game against Geelong and won Peels B&F in his 3rd. Dockers wanted to resign him but Lyons said he could not guarantee him games. Came to Melb on Lyons recommendation so whilst he has been paid for 5 years he really has only 2 under his belt and a 3rd in the Wafl.

The Rising Star Thread - Congratulations Jesse Hogan!
Samael replied to Nascent's topic in Melbourne Demons
After last years BS I am afraid that the Rising Star is completely compromised. Bontempelli should have won it by as much as Hogan should win it this year. My bet this year is a tie between Hulk and Crisp Cripps. Must admit I have no idea about Cripps but as Roos said last night Hogan has done things in his short career that NO OTHER PLAYER has ever done in their first year. Runnaway winner but not politic to give it to him so they will bow to the powers that be and give it to the two. Hope I am wrong but I can smell a compromise coming. I always call him Crisp for some reason
