  1. He did cop a few injuries and did not always play all games and Casey lost a few he played in.
  2. Viv's votes came from 9 games, the winner got 15 from 18 games. Pretty fair effort. Salem 2 votes from maybe 1 game? My mistake he only played 8 games
  3. Are you high?
  4. Go back and watch it again. Michie was THE ONLY MFC player that had the nous to go deep into the back line after we hit the front. Cross came on after the ball came back to the centre and told him to get back to the centre. He had to run back to the centre and then took up his position on the umpire's side of the bounce where he always lines up. Even the commentators queried Cross's instructions to Michie. He had probably run flat out from full back to the wing and then crossed the other side, where the ball went from the bounce, to even get close to where they got the ball into their forward line. The play was already past him and he had no chance of contesting. The TV foreshortens perspective and players can often appear closer to the action than they are. If you ask me the bounce played right into their hands, but players, particularly Cross should have been aware of the situation and flooded back.
  5. This has been a perennial problem for years. It seems to me that when guys get the ball they often have no one to kick to, particularly going into the forward line. Commentators often say it and it seemed prevalent yesterday. Unfortunately watching it on TV you don't get the perspective. I Often get annoyed that they take too long move the ball on. Watching other sides they just seem to know a team mate will be there and handball or kick to position. Obviously there is a significant amount of faith in their mates but it must also be the game plan. We just don't seem to have it and consequently have to take that extra second to look. The other problem is the bombing it long in the Hogan direction. I get it that the team has changed week in week out and he has not really had the number of games with the same players so that they know instinctively what and where he will lead, but still they just launch it hoping he will take a huge contested mark, because thats what he does. I reckon you could count on 1 hand the times we have had a lace out pass into the forwards.
  6. You probably meant Helmutt, but I see what you did there.
  7. You have cleared up a few posts I have read over time. Often wondered why certain players were considered NQ ready when obviously its NQ Ready, particularly when some had played a fair few games.
  8. My Bad I have always thought that's what it meant. You youngsters with your acronyms. Will get us older folk into trouble thru misunderstanding. Now I have to wonder what other ones I have misinterpreted or worse misused.
  9. At first I thought no Jones we are going to be smashed. But I think a few stepped up which seems to be the case when you loose your top player. Think we could be in for a ripper next week with no Jones.
  10. 10 touches at 80%. Really? Barely noticed him today. NQR in my opinion.
  11. One hell of a goal though
  12. 3 minutess in and no Freo goal. Going to be close!
  13. Go for the Interstate Carnival rep team. Pretty easy to get a gig if you have the time. It's in Tassy this year in October. There are big benches which explains how I get a game. That and the fact that there are not that many idiots over 55 still running around. I think they call us legends, my wife has another name for us? Who do you play for in WA. We are Coburg, not great in the youngsters by our team went okay.
  14. I hope so. I don't think his time at the dogs has much to do with the way they play now. Totally different game style with what looks like a hell of a lot of self belief. Most players say its the new coach and new captain. The new captain is, imo, very important as its well known that Ryan Griffen did not want it where as Bob Murphy seems to be inspiration by just being there. Have heard that Macca is a good developer of youngsters and with about 15 under 25 he has plenty to work with.
  15. Do you play in the rep games? I am playing in the over 55 this year and the rep games are brilliant. The lower levels get a bit fair dinkum but the old guys games are fun.
  16. Not a fan of Mcartney. Just watched the North v Bulldogs game and can't help wondering what he was thinking when he dropped Higgins which according to my mate was the reason he went to North. He would be in their best 3 or 4. I think "Macca" is over-rated as a developer. My mate is a mad doggies supporter and says he had no real plan other than to "crack in".
  17. Reading the past few Casey Player reports he has not been going that well at VFL level. Very weird. But I like him, met him a few times and a lovely young fella.
  18. I expect that they will play their guts out. After Roos comments about negative fans I expect them to bleed this week. Don't actually care about the result but do care about the effort. We are playing a very, very good team but its a team that rarely kills oppositions as Lyons appears to only want to win and they quite often shut down when the game is in their control. I am expecting to be within 5-6 goals at the end. To me, considering the opposition, that would be a good result. Opening a red at the start of the game
  19. Danny Frawley on MMM footy show today said that Hogan will be at Freo 2017. The rest howled him down but he was adamant. He has been in Perth all week and recons its a done deal. Can't see it myself .
  20. My only concern with this new found Uber Confident Positivism is what happens, IF Against all odds, the Dockers manage to outscore us (not beat, to negative). Will it hurt more?
  21. I want to leave the team totally unchanged, except for any injuries. They don't need the negative vibe that comes from changes. Email the club and tell them to pick the same team and that we loved the last 2 weeks so much that we want to see the same wonderful efforts again this week against an opponent that has been weakened by the absence of their marquee player. With Fyffe out I reckon we will wipe the floor with them at Subiaco. WIPE THE FLOOR!!!! Sorry long lunch with many reds.
  22. I get the stats from the MFC website. They are totals for the season not game specific. Don't have any quarter by quarter data. Did not see the game yesterday but according to the game stats he had 80% game time yesterday. Its a good point you make and I will see what I can find. I have all our games on iq so if I get the time may do it manually. I think his tank is okay. Speaking to him he says that he has increased his distance from 11 ks a game to almost 15 so that may have something to do with it. Sometimes I think they do 2 ks just rotating thru the bench.
  23. He should have had 3 GA on Sunday but the receivers all missed. Gawn's miss from about 20 out was disgraceful. The stat should be score assists.
