Just got back from the Darebin Falcons game. Had the pleasure of meeting Daisy today. Brilliant woman and she was available today. Was rested. Highlight for me and now to start watching the tape. I took the stats for this season and adjusted them for time on ground. By multiplying the number of games by the time on ground percentage you get actual games played. This in my opinion makes them more comparable. I then divided each players stats from the MFC website for the following stats (limited to 11 categories by the MFC stats). Michie ranks in the top 18 for all but one. His stats (average per game) on an adjusted basis are; Disposals 20.56 ranking 10th Disposal Effectiveness 72% (18th) Clangers 1.5 (4th Lowest) Marks 3.74 (18th) Clearances 2.78 (14th) Tackles 2.91 (23rd) 1% 1.28 (15th) Inside 50 3.74 (7th) Goal Assists 1.25 (1st) Time on ground 60.2% 3rd lowest I think he is worth persevering with and he has improved each week since he was brought back into the team. It is amazing what a bit of certainty and confidence can do for a player. Happy to provide the same stats for your favorite player. M Jones has some interesting ones.

Was 5th highest last week with 20 disposals the top was 29 and 2nd highest was 24, 4th highest clearances, 5th I %0 and 3rd rebound I50, most Goal Assists and should have been more but for missed goals. All from the second lowest time on the ground. Does not warrrant being lumped in with the others and a very tired Brayshaw.

Here are some useless stats. I have adjusted the MFC stats for the time spent on ground (matches times time on ground %). Shows you can make stats say anything. Interesting where some players rank. Sorry can't work out how to post an excel spreadsheet

Yes but the reason I have been told is that the Men required 1 hour warm up. FFS as if 90 seconds was going to make a difference. Should have dumped Mike Fitzpatrick's insipid presentation speech saying how surprised he was that it was "tough". Annoyed a fair few players with that patronising quip. You wonder about the AFL. 170 odd new teams registered this year. That's a hell of a growth rate which should be getting the AFL excited given the problems they are experiencing.

The league cut the game by 90 seconds in the last quarter. No idea why. Even the commentary team was caught unawares. They said there was two minutes to go and then said "No its only 18 seconds" The clock still showed 90 seconds. No respect to these players. It was a very enjoyable game.

From all reports the ND is pretty shallow so it may not yield much past 40. Also depends on whether the league gives "special" draft picks to the likes of Carlton and Brisbane. Might not be the year to toss players out. Also the draft has changed and I think there is opportunity to trade for future draft picks.

Its in a post just around half time. Something about getting the ball in their hands and less defending. Pulled a hammy today and it isn't as painful as this. At 60 YOA I reckon I went better today than LUMBER (Intended). He is just dead wood.
