  1. Totally agree. In those conditions it should have been close all day. I did not realise Billy Stretch was playing today.
  2. T McDonald 1 tackle in a rugby game. Maxy the most with 8.
  3. Even though Dawes got the free its shite in that context. Also reckon the dropping the ball or whatever its called needs relaxing on days like this. The ball is that wet the players barely have control and yet the umpires seem to think its dry and fully under control.
  4. TBH in these sort of conditions its very hard to tag anyone. Ten around the ball and it gets squeezed out. This game is a raffle
  5. Have they announced the team? He was on the extended bench when I last looked. 4th week as emergency
  6. Casey did not exactly play in pristine conditions so where would you get the "fresh" bodies from. At best they had an extra day. And as somebody pointed out the Swans have played in atrocious condition over an extended period. I think the selectors have got it right with good options depending on final assessments.
  7. I think Casey under Plapp are playing the style of football that the seniors are using, certainly more so than under the last coach. The game on Saturday was the worst I have seen them play this year although they had a shocker against Port in a practice match pre-season. They will bounce back next week no doubt.
  8. We would catch some sort of disease there.
  9. Totally agree with you. Casey is not an appropriate ground for an AFL team. We need to dump the relationship and do as the Pies, Dogs etc have done and set up our own, stand alone team. Maybe share Western Oval or Punt road?
  10. Did I? Please enlighten me oh wise one. As far as I am concerned 2 teams played under the same conditions one was okay and the other was putrid. One trains at the ground and would have a greater degree of familiarity with its nuances yet the away team were better in the poor conditions which were nothing like the ground they are familiar with. There are no excuses for the performance served up.
  11. You are dead right. The pies play and train at pristine premises but handled the conditions well. Casey were crap today no excuses.
  12. He was not great last week in better (marginally) conditions. Would have been useless this week.
  13. I hate being a supporter traipsing out to Casey in conditions like that every second week. And nest week is in Bitter Cold Ballarat (with no bacon rolls). Ah well could be worse, could live at Casey (is it actually a suburb?). Today is one of those games you just forget because you are right they are unlikely to play in such conditions the rest of the year.
  14. 4 times from 26 disposals in atrocious conditions. At least he gets the ball and delivers into the forward line. It was a awful game from Casey. The worst I have seen from them. Not worth the 2 hour round trip but the bacon rolls were good.
  15. He was on standby if Viney did not come up.
  16. Viney is playing. Grimes and Michie playing for Scorps and Harmes not playing.
  17. If Viney does not get up then Michie will get the call up. Roos wants Grimes on the wing and HFF. But I think Jack will play. Gotta beat Collingwood.
  18. Not a relative at all. Yes I am a fan of his and I think he is harshly treated and yo yo's in and out despite playing reasonably well in most games. Others seem to get selected week in week out on less but that's just my opinion Was certainly hard done by getting dropped two weeks ago. I agree he will probably go at the end of the season but it seems he is in the squad this week.
  19. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-06-08/vfl-player-review-round-nine Reckon Michie is a chance this week. The Maggots only have a mid field and I would like to think that we will go in with a few of them so that they can remain fresh throughout the game.

  21. I wonder if possessions in games played under the conditions of last sunday (or even MFC's game on Saturday) are a good indication of the player's performance. The Casey game was more like a rugby union game for the most part, except perhaps the last quarter. Seemed a lot of handballs and kicks were inconsequential given the rolling maul played most of the game. Same with tackles, would not be surprised if there was close to a record number of tackles because the ball moved by inches most of the time. The stoppages often had 2 or 3 ball ups because there was no real clearance. The last quarter saw Casey start to dominate and saw better ball movement and resulted in 6 (?) goals.
