Kate's first project is to demolish them and build a state of the art facility for the MFC.

If I'm Lever and May I wouldn't be taking less money. The same applies with Gawn. They are in their prime and entitled to get paid accordingly. Jackson and the up and coming stars will get their big payday when they reach the AA level of Gawn, Lever and May. Brayshaw on the other hand has already got his big payday after his 2018 season. The club won't say this to his manager, but they could argue that Gus owes us a slight haircut on his next contract. Tmac has taken a haircut when he extended his last year of his contract to three years. Harmes has also had his big payday, so his next deal probably won't be on bigger dollars.

So I shouldn't trade him out of my Fantasy team?
-
I'm pretty sure that Max mentioned in a podcast that he sort Jordan Lewis' advice in the week leading up to the Grand Final. Whilst Daniel Cross was the ultimate pro, and set training standards during his time at the club, Jordan Lewis would have had a greater impact on our premiership team.

He didn't play the last qtr so there is a theory that he was rested, due to a 5 day break to Friday night's game. He was certainly impressive for Casey.
-
I think the comments are fair. He's misread the flight of the ball on several occasions, and is clearly frustrated with the interpretation of "blocking" in ruck contests. And it seems that he understands that he's not at his best, and lets Jackson take over.
-
Spot on. I don't understand the hate for Frawley and Howe by many on here. Neither player deserted the club, and both had to endure our darkest times. And both players should be proud of what they've achieved at their new clubs.

Sparrow extended for 2 years.

Why do we need to make concessions to an already brilliant and established backline, just to fit Weid into the team?
-
Did Howes get rested in the last qtr? Didn't see him. JVR looks very promising. Mitch Brown was a class above. It puts pressure on Tmac. McVee and Smith looked at home at this level. Laurie did some nice things, but doesn't look AFL ready. We really don't have that much depth aside from key forwards, excluding Weid. Dunstan racked up possies but looked lazy, particularly when Casey didn't have the ball. Melk got plenty of it, but his decision making was ordinary. Ditto Baker. Aside from the injured Premiership players, didn't really see anyone pushing for selection next week. Bear in mind that this was a low intensity game, and Sandy had a majority of Sandy listed and Saints top-up players.

Bedford and Chandler have shown almost nothing when given their opportunities at AFL level. Spargo isn't getting dropped for either of them in the near future.

Just check the podcast.

Mentioned on Gus and Gawny that the club is giving away a free 2nd membership for those who purchase a 3 game membership, if you use the Gus and Gawny code. That's one way of bolstering the membership tally.

If Rioli chose to contest the mark, he would have had his arms in a position where he could have taken a chest mark. He chose to turn sideways, which could be construed as bracing himself against contact or deliberate head high contact to Rowell with a hip and shoulder. As with the Mitch Robison case, bracing yourself is no defence. FWIW, the tribunal panel member's name is Jeff Gleeson.

If you watch Dr. Laura's injury report video on the club website, she brackets Petty and Hibberd as rehabbing, whilst saying the Rivers will have a test. I'd rule out Hibberd based on that. No mention of Lever, which I'm unsure is a good or bad thing.
-
We're fortunate that Ben King isn't playing for GC. No reason for Tmac to play down back. Assuming Lever, Hibberd and Rivers are unavailable, the matchups could be as follows: Casboult - Tomlinson Lukosius - Smith Chol - May Rankine - Hunt Wouldn't be surprised if Dunstan comes in for Salem and Harmes spends some time down back.
-
That's my take, although it was his 3rd game. He worked hard but didn't show enough to say that he belongs at AFL level. May get some more games as a sub, but can't see who he replaces in the starting 22. He's put himself ahead of Chandler in the pecking order.
-
I would be shocked if that happened. Goody never considered playing Tmac down back when Tomlinson got injured. If our backs are under the pump it will be due to our mids getting beaten. But some supporters will put the blame on the usual scapegoats in Hunt and Smith.
-
Just saw an Instagram post from the club taking at training today. They showed a couple of players taking set shots for goal, and Harmes was one of them. Only forwards were in the vicinity waiting their turn.
-
Dogs aren't exactly flush for key forwards. May takes Naughton, Smith takes Schache and Lever takes Hannan. Martin isn't a factor up forward, so if English plays deep, Max will push back. Tomlinson is only 8 months from his ACL. This will be a white hot game. I can understand why he hasn't been selected.

Whilst we're on Jack, he was the guest on the recent Gus and Gawny podcast. He revealed that he approached Goody and Richo before the GF, and asked if it was okay to line up a Dogs player at the opening bounce, and accept whatever suspension. Goody and Richo said no. He still cleaned up Macrae, and didn't cop a suspension.

Now that was a brilliant doco despite it's brevity. That gave you the sort of insights that was missing from the Fox doco.
-
Aside from Jack Viney having a crack at his teammates when he was 18, there was nothing really ground breaking in the doco. It wasn't enjoyable reliving our tragic history post 1964. I think Garry Lyon used a bit of poetic license when describing Jimmy Stynes running through the mark in the 1987 prelim. Dipper was the Hawthorn player who was unmanned in the forward pocket. I was behind the goals and screaming for someone to pick up Dipper, when Jimmy ran to man him up. And the siren hadn't gone at that stage, as Garry described. The players who all missed gettable shots at goal, which would have sealed the game, were more at fault than Jimmy. Yeats, Jackson, Eishold and Campbell were the real culprits. I would have loved to have seen a doco that just related to our entire 2021 season, with behind the scenes footage that included Darren Burgess' training methods. As a sports lover, I find the ESPN 30 for 30 docos fantastic. Unless you are a Dees supporter, this was a pretty average doco to be honest.

Sorry, I meant "thread" not "post". I actually agree with SWYL. There is a post referring to Neeld's next step being Centrelink. I find this in poor taste regardless of what you think of his coaching ability. Our problems started before Neeld arrived, and didn't end till Goody started. I'm not interested in revisiting anything that happened in between.

I'm referring to a comment on this thread.
