  1. Reading between the lines, Weid will be omitted.
  2. Rosman has all the physical tools to be a good intercepting backman, but lacks the most important thing which is footy IQ. He doesn't read the play well enough and gets caught out of position. Do we persevere with him in that role at Casey when we have 4 KPBs who do read the play well in May, Petty, Lever and Turner? He started out on the wing but didn't get enough of it due once again to his footy IQ. He's 50/50 keep or delist.

If you asked me 3 months ago, I'd be all in for Amon. But JJ's form stacks up against Amon. JJ averages only 1.5 possies less per game but has kicked more goals. I'd much rather keep Gus than pursue Amon.
  4. I go into a game thinking we will win if the following occurs: Key forwards: B.Brown, Fritta, T. Mac 6 goals Small Forwards: Kossie, Spargo, ANB 4 goals Rucks: Gawn, Jackson 2 Mids/Half Fwds 3 Our structure has changed with Bedford replacing T Mac, so split will change. But I can't see us losing many games kicking 15 goals. I don't care who kicks the goals so long as we get a contribution from each group.
  5. Stewie Dew clearly didn't worry about his diet like a professional sportsman should. Whilst you may not forgive Tex for his prior indiscretions, maybe the Melbourne players don't see themselves as perfect, and are more forgiving.
  6. If it's any consolation, one of Luke's closest mates Luke Travers was drafted into the NBA last week. So he won't be seeing much of him should he want to return to Perth.
  7. Fail to see why he'd be a culture killer. The Hawks recruited a 20kg overweight Stewie Dew, and he was largely responsible for winning them a flag.

If there was a midseason trade period, I'd get Tex in a heartbeat. But looking forward, I really want to see JVR in that role asap. As for the supposed no [censored] policy, we currently have a player who's twice been clocked by a teammate. TeX has served his punishment, and I'm sure the Dees players would be accepting, unless they are all Cancel Culturists.
  9. The West End supporters were satisfied with the umps. VB supporters not so much.
  10. Not sure why some people are bringing Ben Brown's form into the discussion. Weid hasn't shown he can play BBBs role when given opportunities. I have more confidence in BBB turning his form around than Weid playing as a KPF. Same thing applied when T Mac was struggling. Weid was an inadequate replacement, and T Mac came good.
  11. I'm led to believe that he'll be billeted by a host family by the name of Lever.
  12. Mitch Brown has been selected as Jackson's replacement. That's who should have been playing 2nd ruck at Casey last week.
  13. JVR was contesting centre bounces against a 100kg 205cm ruckman in Ned Moyle. It was as idiotic as RDB putting Robbie Flower at full back against Malcolm Blight. That really helped Robbies' development. By all means let JVR contest throw ins in the forward line if you think it helps his development.
  14. You're kidding right? At 193cm, JVR has no potential as a ruckman in the future, and it showed last week.
  15. Reilly O'Brien has a big tank. Plays 85-90% game time most weeks. Whoever plays 1st ruck if Jako is out needs to see themselves as a ruck rover. Weid should be given the role and just be active around the contests. Prior to doing his ACL, Tomlinson was the ideal choice, but he looks immobile since returning. I think Mitch Brown comes in, and he and Ben share 2nd duties.
  16. I questioned the decision to play JVR as 2nd ruck for Casey last week. If either Mitch Brown or Tomlinson play the role in Jackson's absence, it makes the decision even more ridiculous.
  17. Whenever I watch Gus n Gawny I'm convinced that Gus will stay. He's so emotionally invested in the club, and Goody seems to understand what he means to the club.
  18. Also goes by the nickname Max as explained on Gus n Gawny. Very funny story.
  19. Nathan Bassett and Fabian Francis. They may not be big names but your whole premise is nonsensical.
  20. And will be covering the ground better than ever thanks to the scooter he's riding.
  21. I don't buy the argument that the EBA is holding things up. Jako could easily commit to the club, and just say that the details have to be finalised. Goody's comments suggest that there is no commitment from Jackson to re-sign.
  22. My take is that Gus wants to stay depending on the offer. He jokingly let slip on Gus n Gawny a couple of months ago that he'd have to wait till Jako is signed, meaning his offer will depend on Jako's decision and terms. If Gus re-signs prior to the finals, my take is that the club knows Jako is leaving, and will give Gus a healthy contract.
  23. Did you watch the game? JVR was non competitive as a ruckman. And to answer your question, Ben Brown wound 2nd ruck, and either Mitch Brown or JVR would come in as key forward. IMO Mitch Brown should have played 2nd ruck for Casey, and JVR key forward.
  24. JVR was cramping early in the last qtr. It's mind boggling that he's playing 2nd ruck at Casey. There's been a spate of ruckmen getting injured this year, so why take an undue risk with our thoroughbred colt. Despite the massive win, the only Melbourne listed players who put up their hand for selection were Chandler, Hunt and Brown. Riv was very disappointing.
  25. I'm assuming this is all guess work. He may well be close friends with Trent, but his closest circle of friends are in Perth. Rivers returned to Melbourne after the GF to be with his girlfriend. Jackson hung out in Perth with his mates.
