  1. I like the suggestion of Petty up forward in T Mac's absence. At least he'll make a contest unlike Weid. He showed a bit as a forward in 2019. I'm not a fan of Tomlinson, and whilst others were glowing in praise of his Casey performances, I thought he got caught out of position too often. However, with May back in the team marshalling the backs, hopefully Tomlinson will be more disciplined. I wouldn't mind seeing Disco Turner given a shot. I don't think he'd be overawed.
  2. Weid has been given a consistent go last year and this year, and has been an abject failure. He offers nothing.
  3. Unless we change our gameplan, bringing Weid in is pointless. T. Mac's role is understated, and Weid has demonstrated that he's incapable of playing it. Maybe it's time to shift Petty to CHF, and keep Tomlinson in the team. As for the changes, May comes in for one of the Browns.
  4. Said from the comfort of your warm chair. Poor form.
  5. Assuming that Tmac is done for the year and aside from May, I don't see anyone who is out of the side making any difference. Weid, Bedford, Dunston, Chandler, Hibberd will not turn things around. If Goody wasn't concerned when we weren't putting teams to the sword earlier in the year, he should be now. Two weeks in a row we've given up 4-5 goal leads, so maybe the players are believing their own publicity. Max and Viney couldn't have done anymore, but our other leaders like Lever, Oliver and Petracca need to lift their games.
  6. It will go straight to the tribunal. He should get 3-4.
  7. Fantastic listen. Dylan Buckley does a great job of letting the guest speak, and his guests seem to open up to him.
  8. Frankston are the Dolphins. Williamstown are the Seagulls. Missed the 1st qtr. The tackling and smothering by the Dees has been fantastic. One particular smother by Woey was incredible, and led to a goal. Mitch Brown doing what is expected by our key forwards, and is leading up and hitting the packs. Hibbo looks like he needs the run. Tommo stills worries me cause he gets caught out of position at times. Best for Dees has been Casey players Munro and Grey. Pretty even contribution by Melbourne listed players.
  9. The clock stops when the ball goes out of bounce, and a 50 can be paid. The siren sounding is irrelevant.
  10. T Mac offers so much more than Weid, so it's not a like-for-like replacement.
  11. For starters, we still have Salem and Hibberd to potentially come in. Gus or Bowey could move to a flankers role, and JJ and ANB could play inside mid. And some of us (including the coaching panel) rate Dunstan and Melksham. Secondly, there's no guarantee that your late midseason draft pick will be any better than some of our untried rooks playing at Casey. And your idea of pensioning off a player like Hibberd is mind boggling.
  12. KC, I noticed that Jack Bell has nominated for the MSD. I hope nobody takes him because I think he's got great potential, and would love to see us pick him up with a late pick in the ND, or as a rookie. He might go unnoticed because he's playing 2nd ruck to Daw.
  13. Whilst I agree that he's not ready for senior footy, I think he does show enough AFL traits to suggest he could be an AFL player. He needs to improve his defensive game, and get more involved at VFL level on a consistent basis. Goody mentioned in his presser that we have players at Casey that no-one has heard of, who they believe will make it with development, and used Jordon and Sparrow as examples. The players that came to mind are Laurie, Moniz-Wakefield, Deakyn Smith, Woey, Turner and Rosman. I didn't include JVR because he's a high draft pick, and everyone would be aware of him.
  14. Is Ben Brown being rested because of the exhaustion of carrying his 2 kids through the banner? Not a chance in Demonland of BBB getting rested for Weid.
  15. When players are "kicking for touch" in the rugby codes, they are generally facing the sideline to where they are kicking, and may only have frontal pressure from the opposition. The point that Sue rightfully makes is that a player may 2 metres away from the boundary with pressure around him, and is penalised even if he kicks it straight up the line, but the ball bounces out. It's becoming a farce.
  16. I'm not sure if this is a p155take, but it's sad if true. Even if T Mac's out injured, Weid is no certainty to replace him.
  17. Krakouer's coming across as sanctimonious, which he's in no position to be. Totally relevant.
  18. Andrew Krakouer, the pillar of society who's never done anything wrong. Whatever was said or done to HL pales into insignificance compared to Andrew Krakouer's crimes.
  19. Nah. Brisbane's loss to the Hawks is equitable to our loss to the Crows last year. They'll still be hard to beat. Freo on the other hand just don't have the talent.
  20. Surely they could have used the "Narrmy Army" chant.
  21. Imagine if you were a Lions or Dockers supporter this weekend. Your membership would be in the microwave, and you'd be calling for Fagan and Longmuir to be sacked.
  22. The issue is in his head, not knee. On the club's Instagram, they show a clip of Trac in the warm up drilling a set shot from the same position where fluffed the around the corner kick. In the warmup though he kicked a regular drop punt.
  23. It's been part of our game plan and success for the past 18 months. If forwards lead straight up the middle, it's more difficult to defend if there's a turnover. Our game plan is built around defence first. If we hold our structures and win contested possession, we give ourselves enough chances to score, whilst limiting the opposition.
  24. Some seem to forget that we are playing against an opposition. Most teams are coming at us with a mindset of disrupting our game plan. As yet, no team has cracked us. Aside from Oliver, and to a lesser extent Lever and May, it was hard finding good players for us yesterday. Even Trac was sloppy and wasteful. But one thing you can't question about this team is effort. That's what grinds the opposition into the ground, rather than our pure talent or brilliance. Gut running isn't measured on the stats sheet, but it's an underrated quality of our players. Goodwin would be rapt with the way we're tracking, because he knows there's room for improvement. We haven't reached the halfway point of the season, and we are still building towards our best. Freo will be a test, but I see the game being a slogfest. Would love to be playing Carlton or Brisbane next week, just to see if we lift up a gear against the 2 other form teams.
  25. Irving Mosquito was another.
