  1. I'd be surprised if we are into Taberner. Goodwin has already pointed out that he sees Hogan and T.Mac as our key forwards, plus we have Pedo and Weid in the wings.
  2. And that's my issue with you. You are constantly putting Roos on a pedestal, and giving Goodwin a whack whenever you can. You've never criticised Roos for trading Howe, but want to scrutinise the result of the Watts trade to the nth degree, when most on here realise that it will take many years before it can be measured.
  3. Ok, if you are such an officianado of the game, tell me how the first 2 stats are measured?
  4. How is it a gamble trading a player with no top 3 B&F placings in 9 years? There is just too much emotional attachment to Watts.
  5. Of course it isn't black and white, which makes your initial comment ridiculous. And Hibberd came a year after Howe left, so that's irrelevant. Imagine if Watts wins a B&F at his new club in his 2nd year, while his replacement is languishing in the seconds. You'll want the FD sacked. Well that is exactly that case with the Bernie Vince trade, who won a B&F in his 2nd year at MFC. Adelaide acquired M. Crouch with that pick, who did little in his initial 2 years, but won a B&F in his 4th. And you also have to factor in the salary cap space that is freed up with Watts leaving.
  6. If that's the case, then I'm waiting for you to castigate Roos for trading Howe for Kennedy. He couldn't get the best out of Howe, and Kennedy has been delisted.
  7. I think there's a difference between being a good mate and a respected team mate.
  8. By the CEO's own admission, Lever telling the club a month earlier of his intentions to leave, the club was able to up it's offer to McGovern, and re-sign him. I'm thinking the angst towards Lever has been initiated by Tex.
  9. I'm pretty sure we low-balled Howe, to force him to leave. Howe's output under Roos was no different to his previous coaches. He was inconsistent, so you can't say that Roos got the best out of him. It was Buckley who was able to get him to play at a comsistent level.
  10. Am I missing something? Greg Wells was a great player, and I'm not using the term lightly. Putting him in the same category as Sylvia deserves a ban.
  11. His value is dictated by the market. You may think that Hogan is worth $500k based on deeds, but that would be an insult when Freo may be offering $1m.
  12. No. Daniel Motlop is long retired. Stephen Motlop is a FA.
  13. Well the plot thickens. Aaron Francis has requested a trade back to Adelaide (the city), and he's still under contract. Surely the righteous AFC wouldn't dare trade for a player of such moral standing. Francis has only been at Essendon 2 years.
  14. Now that's a furphy. The fact that so many have referred back to 1 game (2017 QB vs average side) as their sole reference as a match winner, suggests that he rarely does it. Even on that day, he wasn't BOG. Kind of reminds me of the Spencer fans who kept referring back to the game against Geelong. Spencer was at the club for 10 seasons, and had 1 memorable game.
  15. I doubt that we'll trade next years first.
  16. Great post TSD. I can think of heaps of people I've worked with over the many years who fit the same category, whether it be in a big company or a small business. Genuinely nice people and popular with fellow staff, but just don't get it when it comes to work standards. As a friend, you try to talk to them about it, but they are always in denial, and will blame everybody else. Finally they are put on Performance Management, and either the penny drops, or they are pushed out the door. People on here would have no idea of discussions between the FD and Watts throughout the year. We know that Watts was disciplined during the preseason, and when know the club wasn't happy with how he came back from his rehab with a hammy. And yet Watts still seems to be in denial. And we're still talking in terms of his potential after 9 seasons.
  17. I suppose the Crows angst towards Lever is similar to ours and Scully. Both had only been at the club a short time, which makes it harder to accept. At least Lever told the club a month ago of his decision, which allowed them to up their offer to McGovern. I just don't understand why AFL clubs and the players, have a hard time reconciling with losing a player, when every year they are all out to poach players from other clubs. The Storm actually allowed the 4 players who were leaving the club to lead the side off the ground in their Prelim win, which was their final home game. It was so the crowd could thank the players for their service, and vice versa.
  18. Are you serious? Being dropped in one of the 2 seasons you've used to support your argument means he has under performed.
  19. You can produce all the stats you like. Watts got dropped due to poor form, and since being at the Crows, Lynch has never been close to being dropped.
  20. Joe Public just sees it like it is. We are trying to offload an under performing player who is contracted.
  21. Maybe in your eyes. The club doesn't act to pacify irrational supporters.
  22. And here lies the problem. You think he's boy and he probably thinks he's a boy. He's been in the system 9 years and the excuses are wearing thin. In the modern game, his weaknesses outweigh his strengths, and that's not factoring in his apparent lack of professionalism.
  23. Well they would be wong. Mahoney couldn't be clearer that Hogan isn't going anywhere.
  24. I suggest everybody listens to Josh Mahoney's interview on SEN this morning. Here's a brief rundown: - Watts can explore opportunities elsewhere, but if he can't find a deal that suits himself and the club, he'll remain at the club. - Mahoney couldn't make it any clearer that the club is unhappy with his level of professionalism, and the impact that it can have on our young list. - He a senior player, and the club expects more out of Watts. This is my take on it. The club will keep him on the club's terms. There was clear frustration in Mahoney's voice, because the club's expectations are higher than Watts own. This would have been exacerbated with Watts holding his own presser yesterday, and saying that he's played well the past 2 years. The club has had enough, because Watts just doesn't get it.
