  1. Kicked bags full of goals for Northcote Park in the DVFL. He must have changed clubs a bit.
  2. I just listened to the podcast, and I don't think you could draw any conclusions based on what Yze said. Where we are at as a club, we will continue to develop a player regardless of whether they are a pending free agent or out of contract. Times have changed from the Bailey tanking era and when Roos had pending free agent Frawley playing up forward.
  3. H&S protocols doesn't mean he has Covid.
  4. Bedford was sub last week, so omission means that he returns to the emergency list until sub is announced.
  5. Mitch Brown wasn't hit in the head when collected. It seemed like he was blindsided by a bump, and initially it looked like he was winded. It may be a rib injury of some sort.
  6. In the VFL game against Sandy, JVR was cramping really badly towards the end of the game. Hopefully it was just cramp, and he didn't miss the game against the Bombers through injury. I'd be shocked if he played this week.
  7. Rosman is a bit of a conundrum. He has all the physical attributes to be a good AFL player, but his football IQ is low. On the positive side, he took some nice one grab contested marks, and is extremely quick for his size. He did a fantastic chase down from behind, but unfortunately was penalised for high contact. On the negative side, he got caught out of position in contests, and on one occasion when we moved the ball all the way up the flank, he inexplicably handballed to 2 Bombers players. The backline is definitely his go, but he needs to get better at defending and decision making to be close to consideration for the seniors. I'd persist with him, and can see him being another Joel Smith.
  8. If Tmac's role is to make a contest if he can't mark it, then he failed dismally. Bombers defenders outmarked him on about 5 occasions, and rarely did Tmac bring the ball to ground. The problem is that Weid hasn't shown that he can play this role. If available, BBB has to play. If Lever is available, then T Mac becomes sub, and Tomlinson is omitted.
  9. From the BT school of commentating. Trying to bring excitement into the call rather getting the teams and players names correct.
  10. Switched on late. Looked like Casey had the breeze that qtr. Rosman playing in the backline, and reached the centre with a kick out from a point. Chandler also had a shot that went 60m for a point. Howes kicked a nice goal, and later kicked a point running along the boundary, which he should have centred. Mitch Brown got cleaned up behind play, but got up ok. Haven't sighted JVR.
  11. Really? Do you not understand how gambling works? Ultimately, Betting Agencies are a stakeholder of the AFL. AFL clubs should be transparent with information that is critical to the nature of their stakeholders business.
  12. Buddy was a proven generational talent, and the Hawks did fine without him.
  13. This is where the frustration lies. A week ago, Dr Laura's report said that Hibberd was rehabbing with Petty. Goody comes out and says that he's a chance to play. When the Dr says that a player is in rehab for a leg injury, it's usually at a least 1-2 weeks before they are completing full training, and another week or 2 before they'd be considered for selection. He was never a chance to play.
  14. Kate's first project is to demolish them and build a state of the art facility for the MFC.
  15. If I'm Lever and May I wouldn't be taking less money. The same applies with Gawn. They are in their prime and entitled to get paid accordingly. Jackson and the up and coming stars will get their big payday when they reach the AA level of Gawn, Lever and May. Brayshaw on the other hand has already got his big payday after his 2018 season. The club won't say this to his manager, but they could argue that Gus owes us a slight haircut on his next contract. Tmac has taken a haircut when he extended his last year of his contract to three years. Harmes has also had his big payday, so his next deal probably won't be on bigger dollars.
  16. So I shouldn't trade him out of my Fantasy team?
  17. I'm pretty sure that Max mentioned in a podcast that he sort Jordan Lewis' advice in the week leading up to the Grand Final. Whilst Daniel Cross was the ultimate pro, and set training standards during his time at the club, Jordan Lewis would have had a greater impact on our premiership team.
  18. He didn't play the last qtr so there is a theory that he was rested, due to a 5 day break to Friday night's game. He was certainly impressive for Casey.
  19. I think the comments are fair. He's misread the flight of the ball on several occasions, and is clearly frustrated with the interpretation of "blocking" in ruck contests. And it seems that he understands that he's not at his best, and lets Jackson take over.
  20. Spot on. I don't understand the hate for Frawley and Howe by many on here. Neither player deserted the club, and both had to endure our darkest times. And both players should be proud of what they've achieved at their new clubs.
  21. Sparrow extended for 2 years.
  22. Why do we need to make concessions to an already brilliant and established backline, just to fit Weid into the team?
  23. Did Howes get rested in the last qtr? Didn't see him. JVR looks very promising. Mitch Brown was a class above. It puts pressure on Tmac. McVee and Smith looked at home at this level. Laurie did some nice things, but doesn't look AFL ready. We really don't have that much depth aside from key forwards, excluding Weid. Dunstan racked up possies but looked lazy, particularly when Casey didn't have the ball. Melk got plenty of it, but his decision making was ordinary. Ditto Baker. Aside from the injured Premiership players, didn't really see anyone pushing for selection next week. Bear in mind that this was a low intensity game, and Sandy had a majority of Sandy listed and Saints top-up players.
  24. Bedford and Chandler have shown almost nothing when given their opportunities at AFL level. Spargo isn't getting dropped for either of them in the near future.
  25. Just check the podcast.
