  1. We are just not on today. Look flat. As simple as that.
  2. Port don't have a ruck and Gawn looks stuffed including his bandaged right hand of the last 2 weeks. Oliver also had a massive corkie and hardly played through the middle in the second half. I would give them both a rest. In: Jetta, Tyson, Frost, Spencer Out: Michie, Oliver, O-Mac, Gawn
  3. Gawn has had a bandage on his right hand (around his thumb) the last two weeks and has been clearly favouring the other hand when attempting to mark.
  4. The kid (playing his fourth game I think) had some errors but found the ball 18 times and I am pretty sure his opponent was Schache all day who took one mark and kicked one point. Some peoples focus after a game I just don't get at times.
  5. 6. Stretch 5. Hogan 4. Petracca 3. Bugg 2. Watts 1. Jones
  6. Any complacency today should be removed by the intro of the in form ANB and Newton who know they must perform to remain. We should beat them at the contest well it's then a matter of how well we execute away from it. Anything other than a win is not acceptable but I don't understand how people equate mid to large margins to acceptability prior to the game being played.
  7. Boomer Harvey and Sam Mitchell impossible to split in my view.
  8. Dunn competes well when he is in the contest. With a zone defence he does not get to the contest. Thats the difference.
  9. How many games has he been commended on this year? Look at the defensive set up and attacking style we are playing now. Does he have the attributes to play it? The times they are a changin' Not bagging Dunn (as he has been a fantastic servant of the club) nor saying Garland is the answer (as neither are) but you need to look at where he fits with what we are trying to do now.
  10. What attributes does Dunn have? He can't run, is undersized to play on actual true talls and whilst a long kick is not a good kick. Playing a zone does not suit him. Garland isn't the long term answer but at least offers some flexibility whilst we ready O-Mac or Frost.
  11. I do and don't get it. His form before concussion was nothing to write home about. He then misses and comes straight back into the side but into a role he has not played all year. That's not exactly setting him up for success. Great that ANB will play but a fair bit that makes me uneasy as to what the final 22 may look like.
  12. Garland named in starting 18 not interchange from. Unlikely he would go.
  13. Roos is quoted on MFC website that ANB will be in starting 22 and probably O-Mac. With Garland in the side if O-Mac plays I feel we will be going in too tall again.
  14. Have you seen ANB play this year for Casey? Are you basing this on actual or where you think he is as a player? I have seen Casey v Pies and Essendon this year. Not saying Trengoves form is not promising but if Trenners gets a game ahead of ANB then the ethos of honouring form for promotion is not what this would appear to be.
  15. I completely agree with this but if they are going to do it you would want him getting a good block of footy in that role at Casey. I am surprised that he has been used predominantly as an inside mid.
  16. 6. Jetta 5. Viney 4. Tyson 3. Watts 2. Stretch 1. McDonald
  17. Effort there but we were too fumbly and they capitalised time and again. They trust their inside mids to win the contest and kept outriders that they just flick it out to. Gawn had a big bandage on his right hand that likely was the reason for his poor aerial display. We are a team that won't look great when our bottom 6 are poor and they were poor today. I did not have too much issue with our defensive set up it was more turn over based rather than poor match ups.
  18. Bernie to Bont. Garland to Stringer. Beat them at the contest we will get it inside 50 enough to win and win well. Hard to get a feel for how good the dogs are until you play at the home of football (Sydney a good example last night). What I do know is if player don't perform there are 4-6 ready and able to take their place.
  19. 3QT Disposals - Neal-Bullen 30, Trengove 22, Dunn 21, Newton 21, Munro 17. Goals - Munro, T. Smith 3, Morris 2, Briggs, Dawes, Hulett, Neal-Bullen, Pattison, Spencer, Trengove
  20. half time stats from MFC twitter feed Disposals: Neal-Bullen 21, Trengove 18, Dunn 14, O. McDonald 12, Newton 12 Goals: Munro, T. Smith 2, Hulett, Morris, Neal-Bullen, Pattison, Spencer, Trengove
  21. Salem over Michie is a given if fit. Its whether we make a further change.
  22. The bloke who was killing us at the other end last night is a fair comparison of player type.
  23. This week will be a good test of picking the right team to play the opposition and ground. Michie did not do enough. Aside from Garlo's nomination for worst handball I have ever seen he played his role well. With the dogs playing Redpath, Stringer and a resting ruck forward we will need the extra tall back (Dunn, Omac or Frost) I would think unless we are playing Pederson back (which I would not prefer to stretch them the other way). Hunt and Wagner had excellent games so cant see either missing unless sore. You could possibly argue Salem for Stretch but I cant see who else would miss for Salem or H. It may be a case of bad timing for them and come back through Casey.
  24. He has what we seriously lack and most importantly does not just use it one way but to make pressure and spoils. Also is a great height at 187cm. Coming along beautifully.
  25. How quickly people forget last week. We need a mid(s) with serious leg speed. Granted a key defender in the wings as well would be good.
