Showed good grit to get back into it and but held out my a more mature and experienced side. We were spent in the last and with that went the run and execution. The frustration now is when we are on with the inside and outside balance we are breathtaking to watch but we fall into old way too quickly. Take that effort and style in and you win most weeks.

I don't like Lloyd but he is spot on. Those that whine about these articles and say they don't say anything new. Maybe they will when or if we actually did anything new. We deserve every sensationalised whack we get until we actually stop being the soft bellied laughing stock that we are. All the talk needs to stop, we are well overdue for consistent application of actions and it needs to start now.

Give me the match ups for Petrie, Waite and Brown? Garland has not been great but this was not the week to drop him.
-
Changes are very disappointing. Some players who were appalling such as Kent get another game. ANB has 36 touches and 2 goals but not decent enough to even make the 25. Garland had a shocker yet actually is a good match for Waite yet is dropped.
-
He is not wrong but a good leadership group would seek to understand it and then work through with him what the team expects. He needs to be given the opportunity to rectify it. It must be frustrating being double and triple teamed and hung onto all the time In saying that he needs to take ownership of it by changing up his leads and positioning rather than getting Wingey and showing his frustration to his team mates and more so the opposition.
-
Dunn at a minimum needs to come in to help manage their tall forwards. Garland needs to stay for Waite. We lacked run and need to replace players at least in part who can't run a full game due to role or application (Kent/Harmes) or fitness (Oliver/Brayshaw). Bugg, Tyson and Vandenberg on notice but you cant make too many changes. In: Dunn, ANB, Stretch Out: Kent, Brayshaw, Harmes

Because he would have have the final say on game day strategy, positional moves and would be delivering the message. There was not much different in yesterdays game style than last year. The style was clearly different during the NAB just unsure whether thats by design or execution or both.
-
There was clearly limited talk and direction all over the ground. You could see we were struggling with momentum early on yet our captain remained stationed at half back for the first half. A good coach would have put him where the action was, a good leader would have demanded it.
-
I am pretty sure Oliver copped a leg knock in the first and this is why he was stationed forward for most of the remainder of the game.
-
He has changed his style and application from 2015. How many times did you see him attempt to lead today? He was good last year because he offered multiple leads and when not taken had at least blown up his opponent with his endurance and would then beat them man on man. I don't disagree that we need to fix our forward structure to give him more opprtunity but he is coming across currently as lazy and petulant.

M Jones was far from our worst. Kent, Vandenberg and Harmes may as well not played. Brayshaw was far from match fit. Roos saying we looked tired for [censored]'s sake its round 2.

Demonland Player of the Year - Round 2

Did not work hard enough with and without the ball. No energy, talk or direction on ground, our forward line set up is a joke. They either all clump together and don't lead or are so far up the ground there is no target. Hogan needs to realise if he doesn't want to be double teamed he actually needs to lead and preferably multiple times. Pathetic in any way you spin it.
-
Have to disagree on this one yesterday. Maybe I missed them but keen for examples as I thought he pretty much won or halved all the contests he had. Also moved onto Scully after quarter time and slowed him down.
-
Interesting when O-Mac went down we went with Pedo back and persevered with Frost forward. The forwardline certainly functioned better with one less tall but I would swapped it the other way.
-
The position we are finding ourselves in is unless you are in form you don't play. Development on deficiencies can be done at Casey. He was a liability on the spread yesterday and his execution was appalling. I don't expect him to be dropped this week but players will make way for quality inclusions over coming weeks and he would be in the 4 most likely based on yesterday's outing.
-
Out: O-Mac, Harmes, Frost In: Dunn, Brayshaw, Lumumba Ignore the win. All 3 are starting 22. Harmes and Bugg/Tyson were poor. After watching the game again. I would drop Frost and keep the extra runner. The forwardline looks alot better with Hogan, Watts and one other tall. Bugg and Tyson on notice this week.
-
Those thinking that we will struggle to fit in Brayshaw and co are kidding themselves. Harmes, Bugg, Tyson, Frost didn't set the world on fire.
-
It's amazing how much better we looked when we had to play one less tall forward in the last. Watts most influential game of his career. The penny appears to have dropped. Fell back into some old habits in the middle of the game but showed how good it will look when we get the balance right.

MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 1, 2016

Officially the funniest post ever. -
Tony their numbers are well under others in the same match conditions with the exception of those who were interchanged second half/injury cover. Not exact but plenty I think can be read into it particularly NAB 3.
-
Frost played 57%, 73% and 69% game time in the NAB and that was with Pedo in the side. Round 1 with 90 rotations there is no way he plays without Pederson there as well. I have raised similar concerns with the limited TOG of Oliver regardless of output the risk of taking him into round 1. I would not be surprised to see him miss based on this alone. Matt Jones for mine has to play against the running power of GWS and suspect one of Oliver or Harmes will miss assuming Vanders and Brayshaw are given the green light. I really hope Heretier is not brought back in until he is banging the door down or poor form has a spot open up. Would much prefer we persevere with Bernie off half back.
-
It may be mentioned in this thread somewhere but oliver and frost played 69 and 68% game time respectively. On a bigger ground for round 1 I don't think you can carry that. I think there is a fair chance on a bigger deck Oliver misses regardless of form based on ability to run out the game. Although I though Frost was much more involved including hands in three of our goal chains I would not be surprised to see us go in with just hogan and pederson as talls particularly in the form Watts is also showing.
