I would be keen to go after Warnock if we do indeed go after Rich in the draft and forget about Nait.

It is nice to see some positive articles for a change, however there is a chilling warning at the end of the second one, if our supporters don't turn up then the club will have to sell games again.

The way i read it was that VIS have been using olympic park and half the lexus centre. Our training ground will be developed at olympic park, while collingwood takeover the rest of the lexus centre. Also, our home facilities will be in the stands of the rectangular ground.

My guess is Collingwood builds its oval at Olympic Park (next to the Lexus Centre) and we train on Gosh's Paddock (which is next to the new staduim). Sound right?

Sorry to say, while Rich looks like a gun midfielder, he is just going to be Deledio, Murphy Gibbs..... Great future midfielders. But I would rather the Kruezer, Franklin, Luenburger KPP any day.

We could have taken a risk and picked Kepler Bradley instead of Brock. Just because they're different doesn't necessarily mean that they're the best player.

I would have PJ as a tall marking forward, Warnock on and off the bench as our no. 1 ruckman and Naita as a midfielder who can ruck. That should be our plan.

We neda number one ruckmen and Robbie is that man. Skinny but IMO he did very well last year.

I'll have a look at Jason Laycock as well. Talented but struggling with Hille. Plays well as the lone ruckman.

Laycock is a lazy footballer. i have some essendon mates who absolutely hate him. we don't want him.

Next year our rucks could be:

White, R.Warnock, Naitanui, P.Johnson, Jamar, Meesan and Spensor.... seems like a lot true.

however keep in mind that by the end of 2009

White- retired

Jamar- delisted

Meesan- delisted as a waste of a trade. not a footballer, only an athlete.

Spensor- might be delisted...let's be honest 95% of rookie drafted ruckman end up getting the chop

therefore we'll have Warnock (22), PJ (24), Naitanui (19) and Maybe Spensor if he comes on.

now imagine if we draft Rich instead of Naitanui, and don't target Warnock.

By end of 2009 our rucks will be:

PJ and Spensor and we'll be forced to give Jamar another contract....

If that's the case we'll prob probably end up having to use atleast 2 draft picks every year until we finnally find a good number 1 ruck.

If we're clever we'll fix the problem now, and be set for the next 10 years.

Whats the contract status of Travis Boak? Bailey knows him and he is a gun. If he is out of contract at seasons end we should contact his manager and push our case strongly. The chances are he wouldnt leave Port for nothing but I would rather we tried for bigger fish than Warnock.

If we were to acquire Boak and draft Rich or Naita we would have an excellent on ball nucleus with a balance of size, speed and hardness.

According to Carlton's recruiting manager Wayne Hughes, Naitanui is a freak, and will bring people in through the gates.

Hopefully we can convince Warnock to come to Melbourne. We should screw Fremantle, and offer them a 3rd round draft pick, and tell them to take it, or we'll pick him up in the PSD.

I couldn't help but be impressed with our Warnocks game on Sunday. One game doesn't make a career, but I thought he showed quite a bit, especially with the ability to hit targets. I, like many thought he wasn't going to cut it, but if he was to continue in that manner and become a solid AFL player, then the attraction for his brother to come to us would be even more so.

I like the idea of Warnock and Natanui leading our ruck in the coming years.

He played on last years full forward for WA recently and beat him and 2 weeks ago was playing full back for the Knights (I assume it was the knights), was shifted to CHF and snared 6 goals. He is a beautiful kick and well balanced. Consequently he is on the radar for a lot of recruiters.

Problem is we would need another pick as he will probably go top 10.

Going by what I have heard Cornelius has been a bit disappointing so far this year in the VFL - still young though so may be ok.

Stuff the third round draft pick, it was daylight robbery what they did to us in the Farmer trade, nah, they can get stuffed. Just pick up Warnock in PSD if he's available.
