Anyone happy about the Tigers beating Chri$ Judd's mob?

Recommended Posts

Yeah go Tiges, good to see Carlton go down.

Judd did look in pain, he didn't use to grimace that much when stretching out. Maybe it's just a matter of playing through it while coming back from the surgery. Maybe its worse than that. Still, he has moments that are just brilliant, only its a bit harder when you don't have Kerr/Cousins/Embley/Fletcher/Braun/Priddis/Hurn around you.

My theory is that in an effort to pump up the tyres of their wagon Carlton have gone too early with Judd. I haven't seen the match, but I'd be interested to know Hards from yourself and others how he played. Others have stated he looked only 50% fit and at times looked to be in pain. Given DB's philosophy with players and injuries I doubt he would've played if he'd been with us. I am a complete sceptic when it comes to blokes playing on dodgy groins - either they're right or they're not. Playing through pain is one thing, but if it's on overuse injury like OP then according to all the current indications and trends he will simply continue to aggravate the problem to the point where he was last year, or potentially worse.

He did look a little rough, but his acceleration was still there, maybe not 100% but almost perfect. Without knowing the exact issue with his groin, I get the feeling it's one of those ones that is not bad at full pace but becomes a major problem when he cools down. Problem with that is that each week he plays the harder it'll be to get back to close to 100% - the recovery gets harder and harder.

Carlton in general got badly overrun, and perhaps too many guys playing off short pre-seasons? Stevens and Judd in particular, plus Murphy got knocked around a bit. They're just so young in the key positions other than Fev and Thornton (sorta), by the time Edwards and those guys become consistant key forwards it's going to be three+ years. Those guys aren't Buddy Franklin's that can start turning games by themselves in year two...

maybe carlton were tanking! Especially if the game notes were to be believed, because in both the second and third quarters they apparently 'went to sleep'

I kept seeing Richo pleading to the umpire "Why have you forsaken me?".

And then he arose as if from the dead.

But Fair Dinkum how can anyone compare him with Robbie? (todays paper)

Beware false prophets I reckon.

Richo was so hardly done by when he was running back with the flight, showing amazing courage and was clearly kneed in the back and got donuts from the umpire, it was a disgrace.

I'd just like to add that Carlton are now my most hated side by far, if they were going to fold I would be delighted.

I'm happy to see Chri$ grimace in pain and would love if he never played a final again.

Richo is God

A bloke that loves the jumper and stuck with his club the entire journey, even though they have sucked the whole time

Judda$ on the other hand.. karma will get him, and the tanking Blues

Losing is a culture!

It is, and Carlton are now subscribed to it. Libba was right depsite the AFL's denials. I encourage a curse on them, couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch of merchant bankers.

im estatic. had $150 on rich and almost craped myself. Very happy. Carlton are my most hated team now ahead of collingwood, just cause the supporters are so bloody Judd loving. Ill pay to see judd doing a career ending injury

Carlton are a bit like Sir Paul McCartney. They both purchased damaged goods in the form of a person with one good leg and like the great Beatle, the Blues may well live to regret the decision.

Judd is an awsome player and i love watching him play, the fact that he's with carlton NOW doesn't bother me at all reallly, conidering he only won one premiership with a star filled westtoast.

i'm just really glad he didn't go to the pies were he could of really made a difference.....

he's a gun! the fact he didn't choose Melbourne doesn't worry me, i think we did really well in the drafting department this year.. so i only have one thing left to say about this matter..

GET OVER IT!

bounce!

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
