Just got this game delivered:

http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_matc...istics?mid=4070

God I miss simple, direct footy. Just so much more honest than the game today. Commentators were comparing Jako to Jason Dunstall during the game!

So when can we expect the highlights? It's not that difficult, complicated to a degree, but there are guides available.

You'll need DVD Shrink, VOB2mpeg2, Virtualdub-mpeg2 and SUPER or AVIdemux. I'm not sure about quality. Probably Youtube will insist on its own re-code but if the video is already to the site spec this might be avoidable.

The waiting is killing me

The world needs to see Jaka

I can envision this video getting 1,000,000 hits on YouTube!

Giddy up!

To be fair maybe the guy has been busy, but please please please get this up soon.

Thanks for the benefit of doubt. Yes, work commitments and pregnant partner make time scarce! Will work on it for you Jako fans this weekend.

Thanks Chaser J.

Selfless efforts like yours are appreciated but they not always properly acknowledged.

Look forward to seeing it.

Cheers, mate.

Had a play around last night and uploaded a 3 minute clip from the first quarter last night.

Jeeze Lyon was good. Keep em coming mate.

That was the highlight for me, how well Did G move, god to have someone like him in our team at the moment..

I think his football ability gets lost in what he has done post footy. he was Brilliant.

i remember one of his best games was against richmond, the week after Balmey got sacked, garry could hardly move, i think he got about 2 kicks, kicked one goal off the ground, but i thought he was nearly best on ground that day, his leadership and focus was awesome, would be nice to have that in our team now...

jacka, what a flawed genius he was...

Good times..hope their not far off again..

I just remember that game for Damien Gaspar's blind turn in the back pocket.

Anyone else remember that?

Classic.

P.S. Thanks for the Jacko upload.

does anyone else remember what a riot of a bloke jaka was off-field, too? maybe clubs didn't have the rein on players then, but he had some fabulous things to say. after an early game he was asked about being flamboyant & said -- was he clever enough for tongue-in-cheek? -- he didn't know what that word meant. asked on radio about his favourite goal, he said "the one i give off to grinter" -- such faux selfishness. he was a gem that boy. also remember going to the turf club hotel in flemington where he'd got up & sung w. the band. we had to settle for him joining in from behind the bar. &, of course, the brotherly kiss, the aeroplane goal celebration, the jumper-over-the-head celebration. there's never been anyone like him in the afl.

Classic.

Did Gaspar have the ball at the time? Did he turn back into the opposition goals?

I used to cringe when Gaspar was selected. He epitomised the trough we were in 10 years ago under Balme.

If you get that move of Gaspar's on you tube it would be worth something.

I cant recall one piece of redeeming football that guy ever played.

I think he was cut at the end of 1997. It could not have happened too soon.

There were some things about Jako which were not such a riot. He was a mercurial enigma on the field and not the sharpest tool in the shed off the field. His lack of maturity and judgment in certain situations off the field placed Jako in some very difficult circumstances.

Its a pity he was not better focussed or prepared for football like his brother.

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. The first round draft pick at #13 from twelve months ago the strongly built medium forward has had an impressive introduction to AFL football and is expected to spend more midfield moments as his career progresses.
