I can't stand the Clokes. However, considering our current shortage of tall key position backmen I was wondering if anyone would be interested in Jason Cloke. By all reports, he had a very good year in the VFL. He may be able to match-up on some of the opposition monster forwards.

Considering we don't have anyone who can fill this role in the short-term, apart from Benny Holland who is ageing and injury-prone, Cloke could be worth the risk - it seems that he has sorted a few things out this year. If he has sorted out his soft [censored] attitude then he MAY be a reasonable pick-up.

Does anyone agree or am I just being an idiot??

hehe...it was a good try..you never know what move our club will pull. there have been a lot of surprises this year and most of them have been good ones

I'd take him only as an insurance policy.

As we found out last year, you can never have enough defenders on your list.

Much rather Sampi though.

If he is not good enough for AFL.....he is not good enough for AFL. Why fill your list with that?

What we found out last year was that our defenders were not good enough and we have cleaned out a couple.

You can never have enough GOOD defenders... You can have too much deadwood.

Agree. The term "insurance" is only meaningful if your insurance is AFL grade. If your best defenders are out you might as well have some skinny kid filling in, at least then you might accidently uncover a gem. With someone like Cloke all you would be doing is filling your crack in the wall with water.

Definitely pass.

For sure.

Not necessarily taking a crack at the OP here, but so many love to see the great 'depth' we have, when they're referring to players on our list that are mature, have some experience, but have been found to be not up to scratch.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 22nd January 2025

    Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force for training at Gosch's Paddock on Wednesday morning for the MFC's School Holidays Open Training Session. DEMONLAND'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS REHAB: TMac, Chandler, McVee, Tholstrup, Brown, Spargo Brown might have passed his fitness test as he’s back out with the main group.  Sparrow not present.     Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training.     There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training.
