This is a great move.

As much as we want a fresh new start, it's good to have some people around who know the players, especially our young players.

Mark Williams has worked with all of our kids at one point or another, and so his input will be invaluable to Bailey.

Wow, that is sensational news, we've really struggled through lack of resources in the development area and that is a huge step forward!

I think that makes it:

Football manager: Connolly

Senior coach: Bailey

Assts: P.Williams Mahoney Wellman

Development coaches: M.Williams K.O'Donnell

Recruiting & List management: Cameron

Fwd scout: Prendergast

That's a new and strong looking team for MFC.

Good fortune to Sandy finding a replacement for Mark Williams who has done a superb job there.

What other coaches positions need to be filled? I know we need ruck and is that it?

Excellent news and is a really positive sign from the new MFC coaching regime of sound thought process and good appointments.

As we have noted before Mark Williams is a high quality person and coach as we have seen at close quarters at the Zebs. A great addition and very welcome aboard Mark.

Also luv the idea of getting Brett Lovett to the Zebs as would bring another good coach with Demoin credentials into the fold.

LIKE IT A LOT

Sandy's loss is our gain, good luck to him in his new role for the MFC.

there is something about al this that really pleases me and genuinely convinces me that this club has finally "GOT IT !! "

In the process of slecting a coach it ( MFC ) obviously saw much talent and upside in a number of the interviewees. Did we just say thanks.. seeya later. NO...where possible it has harvested this enthusiasm and obvious talent and molded a Coaching TEAM

This is clever. it could have very easily gone al lpear shaped but No, the powers that be have convinced these talented and knowlwdgable folk to hang around. To be part of it...even if not quite in a manner they originally perceived. Its THIS that pleases me. Its a clever forward thinking outfit that can do this. When can we genuinely have thoughtthis of our beloved club ? Not for a long long while I'll tell you !!

we now have a developmental side to the buisness.. something only half baked attempted in past. We have a lot LOT more real intel on other footy environs... and they are very successful ones !! what a coup !!.

No matter how pretty the house , if your foundations are crook it wil tumble down. But build sturdy footings and you can do whatever you want.. this is where I now see MFC... We have good foundations.. and some pretty fair building materials on site.

lets get cracking !!! :)

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well …

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
