Geez we'll be adding Peter Giles and Roger Ellingworth to the coaching panel next week at this rate! How many 80's Melbourne old boys can we fit into the offices?

I can give you the tip that for his 80 odd games he was more often than not in the best players with Chris Connelly, Robbie, Alan Johnson Peter Moore. He was core. But we really were shite during his time.

FWIW Jack Dyer would always mention him in dispatches on WOS.

Peter Tossol has been approached

I remember watching one of the Tossol boys play for Thornton seniors when my team was playing them in the under 17s. It was really interesting to see how much of a cut above the rest of both teams he was, faster, better positioning and ability to read the play and to create the play so much more than anyone else that day yet with all of that domination he showed its interesting how much of a leveler the VFL/AFL standard was/is

K O'D was one of my favourite players. Had pace and skill but was a bit undersized.

From what I remember we sometimes had the Irish cenrtreline of Kelly O'Donnell, Chris Connolly and Paul O'Brien. All average footballers but very honest triers.

Robbie would sometimes play half-forward, full forward etc. Once kicked a bag agaisnt the Saints at Moorabbin because he was ill and had to play FF. Vomited several times behind the goals between taking big marks and kicking goals. O'Donnell possibly played wing that day. Does anybody have a record from this game?

You heard it here first. Glenn Mclean to formally be announced as our Ruck Coach, Tossol the Forwards Coach, Graham Gaunt the backline coach, Michael Seddon our skills coach and Adrian Battiston our stoppages expert. Mark my words these blokes will be wheeled out with the new coach at the Junction Oval later this week, under a mysterious new strategy coach Bailey plans to unleash on our once proud club to restore it to glory. I can't reveal my sources, but apparently the codename for the masterstroke is 'The 5 Year Plan'.

well...for probably the first time in....umm...in......... well, a very long while it does seem that we are developing a real plan. An to go with the plan assembling the personnel to enact it. Now nothing ever really results overnight from such things but it is very encouraging isnt it :)

Again...i think it will be avery different Melbourne taking to the pitch next year... ..different mainly above the shoulders !! :)

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm.
