Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Just wanted to start this and would prefer if it didn't turn into a 'He was a lazy, inconsistent player who gave us nothing but the occasional glimpse of incredible talent' thread.

That kinda talk isn't welcome in this thread. Please respect that, as I have fallen into a deep state of depression with this news.

I would just like to thank Trav for his time at the MFC. He has been one of my favourite players of all time.

Fond memories from both on and off the field (ie. the Brownlow  ).

Perhaps I will grow to love pick 14 just as much as Trav, but nevertheless it will pain me to see him play in the maroon, gold and blue.

Thankyou Trav. :(

I agree....i am having a beer for travis tonight!

He has been one of the most harshly criticised players ever to play for us. Everyone always thinks because he was the number 1 pick with a lot of talent that he should have dominated every game.....thats just not fair. He has been a magnificent player who has had a lot of bad luck with injury!!

I cant speak for others but i know dozens of time ive woken up and thought i cant be bothered going to the footy today....and its been the thought of getting to watch travis that keeps me coming back. It will be a lot less exciting with him gone. I hope he has an excelent last few years with the lions!

Thanks for the good times travis

TJ will go to the lions he will win the brownlow or he will be a very top player. with black lappin adcock there will be to many good players to tagg tj will be a lot more free to do what he does. but he cant do that at the dees too many outside players but at the lions mattaws knows how to keep the balance. right with inside and outside players. so goodluck TJ thanks for the memores

good luck trav, thanks for the memories and the excitment. when you had the ball i knew anything could happen. hopefully whoever takes the number 16 will fill your shoes because i still have your number on my back, however im sure they wont have the skill that you do. good luck with the rest of your career, i hope this trade gives you as many opportunities as it gives us.

We Talk of "potential" in abundance on these forums. Let it be kow, that Travis had more potential than ANY plyer to ever play at this club. If one day he can stay fit, and get his game right, he will be one of the elite midfielders in the comp. As far as skill and potential go, Travis was a true great.

I would have loved to see him develop further, but his career and the clubs future are in two different directions. I hope Travis can find whatever it is he needs to live up to his potential in Brisbane.

Trapper will be missed.

Thanks for the memories (including the brownlow snog-a-thon!)

Truly the most underappreciated (or even unappreciated) footballer our club has known in my lifetime. Unfairly criticised for faults that people see in him but not in others who possess them to a greater extent. A remarkable talent, freakish kick, and devastating player when free from injury. It has truly been a privelege to support trav, and I will always remember his time at the dees fondly. And I thank him for giving us a couple more years than would have been the case if he had opted to take the easy road and make the move to Sydney when he had the chance.

There have been many games that I have dragged myself along to for the sole reason of watching trapper, knowing that it will otherwise be a dismal day.

I can't imagine the dees playing without the sportsperson who I have enjoyed watching more than any other, and this is a devastating day for the dees as far as I'm concerned.

Cheers trapper.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
