Sydney could be an ideal trading partner

I get the feeling the Swans would kill for a class midfielder capable of kicking goals. The Swans have stagnated, and need some icing on their hard working midfield

Luckily for us, we have icing by the bucketload

Green, Bruce and Johnstone

I reckon the Swans would love either one of those guys. We could make a trade with Swans into something very beneficial

But do the Swans have anything we want? I look at their list, and all I can think is that their 1st round pick is all I would want for one of the above three players

Travis is probably the one they'd want to feed their forwards, one of which they might hope could be Robbo?

This for their 1st rnd pick + a player, I don't know enough about their 2nds to pick from. :)

Who would you like 'Yze_Magic', from the Swanny's young'ns?

Travis and Kirk would work together soooo well this is why we shouldnt give up Travis to Sydney. Come back to bite us in the arse.

The only person i would trade for is Ryan O'Keefe absolute gun!

We're disagreeing because we're seeing things from different time perspectives. I don't care about next season, high up the ladder wise. In fact I would much prefer to recruit a good No of young quality draftees, (If we can get 2 kids ready to play top footy next season), & finish around 7 or 8ish wins whilst still playing competative exciting footy will make me feel very optimistic about our flag future.

But recruiting young Guns requires early selections & good recruiting management.

Sydney's list is I think on a slow decline.

Mate i'm not disaggreeing with you, i agree with your opinons but i for one disagree with trading Travis especially to the swans as I think Travis and Kirk would make a deadly combination aswell as the rest of the swans midfield. The swans are on a decline but they are still a quality side with a very good core but imo what teh swans need is a KPB and a knew FF to take some pressure off Hall and O'Loughlin.

I for one would be dissapointed if we traded TJ....

The guy has given me no end of frustration over the years, but it would be nice to see him have a solid pre-season and a great year next year!

Seriously, Trav has no-one but himself to blame for even being touted as a potential trade! His work ethic and passion (from an outsiders view) has been well below par! People rave and rave about how good Chris Judd is.....

Trav.... The only difference between you and the Juddernaut is the fact that he has sacrificed his lifestyle, worked his ar$e off, and realised his full potential....

Please have a strong pre-season.... I realise injuries have knocked you around over the last few years (little niggles and bone problems) but get off the Pi$$ and show us the TJ we all know can win a Brownlow!!!!

It looks like Sydney may hold onto Jolly, so they wouldn't immediately target a ruckman.

Roos has always gone hard for a target in trade week and isn't adverse to trading any pick to get what he wants. Trapper fits the bill, in terms of their needs -their list is on limited time, Trav would make an immediate impact. If they offered their first pick for him I'd jump on it.

Quite correct Graz about Sydney and the price is right for TJ.

The only difference b/w Trav and Judd is daylight.

You know what I have wanted TJ to have a strong pre-season for 9 seasons........still waiting.

i read this on bigfooty i think i struck a liking to it...

Pick 4 + maybe a sweetener like Miller/Jamar/pick37 to Freo

Pick 7 + Ryan Murphy to MFC.

we down grade out pick 3 spots, which will still leave us one of Rance, Henderson, McEvoy or Masten to choose from. and we gain Ryan Murphey, a true key forward we deperately need...

Freo upgrade their pick to number 4, which will allow them to snap up Palmer or Masten (whoever they rate higher), both extremely highly rated Western Australians who will both almost definitely be gone by pick 7.

this kind of astute trading is what we need.

Whats the big deal with Ryan Murphy?

What has he done at AFL level? Nothing

No way do I want to drop three spots in the draft to pick up a guy who has done nothing and will probbaly do nothing

Ryan Murphey had an very impressive 2006 season. this season he plays well at wafl level but found it hard to make the seniors because tarrant basically took his position.

freo have tarrant and pavlich as 2 big forwards so he could be a good pick up

I think your dead right yze magic- trav or green or bruce (reluctant to trade green he wears his heart on his sleeve), trav is lazy and brucey can be too. I'd take their first round for trav...trav is slight, doesnt run hard enough defensively and pinpoints the kick on too many occassions. and yeah maybe a player as well

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
