Forgot to mention AMW. He looked like he knows something that we don’t know. The killer smile was broader than usual. I said, “got any special plans for Sunday?” Predictably he said you’ll have to wait and see but he winked when he said it!

My spidey senses were off the charts

All that extra loading on the dance floor including extensive finger stretches, has adapted his body to the rigours of AFL

Turner really needs to tuck in his shirt and bust some moves.

The website repeats March 24 for the flush runs - which I reckon should be next week, 31 March? Right Ghosty? Or maybe it's an April 1 prank?

Defs a typo. It will be the same as yesterday’s schedule. I’ll confirm the night before 👍🏽

If AMW plays, this might mean TMac doesn't. It may depend on what Carlton's forward line is expected to be. Do they play two or three tall forwards?

I expect Carlton to play 2 tall forwards at the one time if last match was any indication. McKay and either McGovern or O'Keefe. Carlton have a number of small mediums such as Haywood, Ainsworth, Williams and Evans. You might be able to get away with just Petty as a key defender but I doubt it.

If we do not play T Mac, I reckon you can 100% bank on JVR being the second ruck which is not ideal given JVR was the match winner as full time forward in round 1. Last week he was forced into the second ruck role and it was back to the bad old JVR days of 2025.

The reason why JVR would have to ruck again is that Petty can't possibly ruck without Turner or T Mac in defence.

Playing T Mac makes sense in terms of our structure.

TMac has been named in advance to share 250 games with Maximus.👍

Apologies if I missed this, but when / where’s the next main training sesh?

Just saw Sharp, Lindsay, AJ & Laurie walking the tan.

I’m guessing it’s tomorrow at Casey Fields. Because these sessions are closed to the public, they’re not advertised. But it makes sense to have it tomorrow, then a light captain’s run on Saturday morning.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
