How ridiculous are the 2 min simulation scenarios?

Practice that stuff at training.

People are trying to watch a match and sure it doesn't really matter who wins, but it's still a game of footy

If you tuned in at that point you'd be asking questions. It's stupid.

Do coaches do pressers after this?

In Fairness North were missing:

Corr, Wardlaw, McKercher, McDonald, Spargo, Urquhart, Fisher, Dawson, Goad, Thredgold, Curtis, Mikuda, Goater, George, Jackson, Whitlock, Stevens, Banch, Trembath

They will be a much tougher proposition in the season proper

Only Wardlaw, McKercher and Curtis from that list are AFL. We were missing more

They were short 4 of their best, we had 3 of ours in Gawn, Viney, and Mihocek missing >3/4’s and maybe Culley out.

They’ll improve for the real stuff but the big question is how much we can get better too.

Hopefully a large amount of Supporters sign up as Members again, after today’s hit out.

Yes it was only North, who were dreadful, but there was still some very precise and direct Football played today.

The new Coach is challenging the players and they responded.

I don’t usually get any excitement out of preseason games, but with the amount of Turnover within the Club at all levels, it was great to see the players committed to run hard

I haven’t seen a style like that for many Seasons

So Kentfield only came on when Mihocek was injured (according to Chapo)

Jeffo must be doing something amazing at training to be ahead in the pecking order in front of Kentfield

Quite possibly. But new coach and a team that would have surprised a fewthat they missed the finals so badly the last two years - surelay they wanted to put in a good show today. Add to that North just about sunk our year in round two last year. So it's a big relief that we presented today. And they'll go to training next week with a spring in their step.

Absolutely

Was not trying to downplay our performance. Them missing their 2 best young guns makes a big difference to their shallow list

Was very happy with the effort and performance

Are intra club games better than these games?! Of course those 2 minutes simulations have nowhere near the same gravity as in a Home and away or final s game. But s surely it's better we can go allout in any simulation against another club then against teammates. While I wouldn't be happy to watch 20 of these two minute simulations in a row but why would anyone be bothered by them??

Thought Kolt applied himself pretty well

Highlights to the game are up on the social platforms. (You tube, Fox footy)

Thanks! Just watched it.

Pickett kicks to Pickett, who takes a bounce, handballs to Pickett, one two with Pickett, now goes for a stretch of his legs, one bounce, two, three, and a fourth; kicks to Pickett in the goal square, drops the mark but taps in back to Pickett who soccers a goal!

Happy for them to practice end of match scenarios, this ‘round’ were not even afl preseason matches. These are match simulations and I’m just happy they were made available for viewing.

Glad we took in extra players and were easing in players. Other than mihocek seems we got through without any injuries.

Same here. Of course one can only take so much out of these affairs . Actually we've seen enough teams look unbeatable ind the first third of a seasonyet fade away, so mostly pre-season matches can only be an indicator for early rounds.

First look at Heath, Miocek & Steele in Dees colours, couldn’t be more impressed.

Kolt - pass, X Taylor is a better option in defence, play him.

Fritta, Sparrow, Riv, Lever all impressed too.

Pickett x 2 - Just WOW.

Game plan looked great and clearly above Noths, felt watching the game Kingy was out coaching Clarko.

Howes was very solid too

Will that nth player get suspended for his tackle on brody that caused him concussion?

Unnecessary by Comben. He actually would have got the free kick if he didn't drive Mihocek into the ground

Surprised by todays performance. Young players are looking very good.

We now have pace to burn.

North have been screwed by the compromised draft over the past few years and it will be worse when Tassie get freebies.

Dees have planned well for the Tassie drafts - loaded up in advance.

I think we need to keep Langford in the middle

Need to see more from JVR, Jeffo, Windsor next week

Best game I've seen Howes play

Maybe, but Windsor has more runs on the board and may have been distracted by his English namesakes’ shenanigans 🤔

Latrelle looks very exciting. Can someone tell him that you can run 15m, not 5, before bouncing it?

Most impressive was his composure from someone so inexperienced.

Never blazed away, his decision making is excellent which you can’t coach

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
