Pagan Gone

Rumour gathering speed that he will be gone by the end of the day.

I think the rumours are wishful thinking of Carlton supporters who are becoming desperate to get in the coaching merry-go-round with Melbourne and Freo.

I heard there was a hoax email sent out earlier today relating to Pagan getting sacked today.

SEN even sent someone down to Optarse Oval to investigate but Carlton denied it.

I must admit, it would be a strange time to sack him, the Friday before a game. Surely a sacking is best done earlier in the week.

I think that it might be a good thing at least he knows how to build a list and get a flag every now and again.

Remember we havent won since 64.

Sheeds to leave Essendon BUT will get a job with Andrew Demetriou. He has super footy knowledge

l have been told from some one with in carlton that pagon will be SACKED .

with in the next three weeks and Voss will take over .

at the blues he cant fail

he could still fail at the demons or the dockers with both teams still good to go in the top 8 next year.

if he makes carlton get in next year he has had a win if not well they are in bad shape any way .

lets see if my fly on the wall is right within the next three weeks

Like Mark Twain rumours of Pagan's demise are greatly exaggerated.

In any event, I don't believe that Carlton would entertain sacking Pagan before the end of the season because, as history has shown time and time again, teams always win the week after they replace a coach. Now, that's the last thing Carlton wants to happen this year!

Quick question for the better informed........

Is Pagen actually contracted to the Blues for next year?

believe he does have one more year on his contract.

But with Mr Pratt as President finding a spare half a mil isn't as hard as it used to be

Pagan has been dead in the water from some time.

Who knows......they sack the coach, win the next game and lose a priority pick!

Nah not even Carlton could do that. They will probably sack Dennis after the final round when he wins them the last game of the year!

The Roos are sitting outright second and you think they will sack the coach?

To DS's defence the club itself is unwilling to extend his contract atm, and that's never a good sign when a coach is in his last year. There have been a couple of rumours floating around that they want someone else to coach them.

Given the Club has gone through a gut wrenching battle over relocation, its no wonder they have not opened up these discussions.

They may prefer other coaches and may wish for Laidley to leave of his own accord.

But they are sitting outright second and exceeded all expectations of them.

Given their financial peril is tighter than ours which coaches would they be after?

I am not sure North would want Pagan and I am not sure what Pagan brings to North given he went to Carlton to ironically escape the financial constraints of North. There's no Carey at North now to build a team around.

    GIANT HEADACHE by Whispering Jack

The crack in the captain’s ankle might be very small but the repercussions of the injury are enormous. The aftershock of the news that Max Gawn will sit on the sidelines for the next two or three weeks has provided Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin with a giant headache, not unlike the one he faced after the Kings Birthday when another Demon superstar Christian Petracca suffered his season-ending injury. That headache is magnified by the fact that Goodwin is facing a month of tough encounters a

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b
