During yesterdays telecast Commettie (sp?) said somthing like if you are healthy on Melbournes and still not getting a game then you'd be wondering.

also only 4 have played full years

carroll, white, davey and junior are only ones to play full year, with carroll injured apaprently, that leaves 3 in

whites played 85 games in a row as well

Clint Bartram played one game this year after overcoming his ankle injury, then did his knee at training! :(

Of the players who haven't played this year, 4 are rookies who can't be elevated as we've missed the cut-off date.

Weetra has been injured most of the season, and Neville is still playing in the Sandy reserves.

We're pretty much down to 24 players to select from this weekend.

Correct. Good work Jaded, Bartram did play a game before injury this season.

Wasn't aware of this, when was the cut-off date?

Any word on Bruce's injury? Channel 7 said it was a hamstring at training but nothing more.

It must be this week, if this is correct, since I heard one of the other clubs has elevated a rookie for next match.

Alwyn Davey's on the long term injury list which allows Rama to stay on the senior list.

We've got lots of long term injuries so it's  why we don't elevate Neaves. The best of the rookies and the only deserving.

Is money the issue again as mfc can't scrounge up a few dollars to pay Neaves?

I fail to see the point in upgrading someone simply for the sake of it.

Neaves is way behind White & PJ in the pecking order. I wouldn't drop one of them for the sake of bringing in Neaves - what would it achieve? Not much IMO.

Can see why people want to see youngsters, but it's going a bit far.

True but Neaves is a playa i like to try. White's not a ruckmen anymore. He's a tall midfielder who can jump.

wouldn't mind giving shane neaves or even jace bode a go if we are really down to numbers.

A definite yes to Neaves. He's been very, very good at Sandy and I think a taste of AFL footy would just encourage him to work even harder. Not sure about Bode though.

You'd think based on these numbers, and the way our best&Fairest is voted on, that Junior would be a short

priced favorite to defend his prize...

Fair enough, but it seems Jamar is being picked in front of Neaves for Sandy this week and it's a big step up.

I imagine Neaves will be on the list next year, so I'm sure he'll get a chance if he's good enough.

They also started Newton on the bench a couple of weeks ago

I think Sandringham has at least one key forward not eligible to play for MFC while Jamar and Neaves are only competing against each other.

Anyhow, I was just using at as an illustration of Neaves' stocks compared to PJ and White - right now he's a long way back, regardless of what some may say about White's ability as a ruckman.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
