The Saints list management team should hand in their notice- what absolute fools.

TEAM?? TEAM?? U MEAN ROSS THE BOSS, This was down to the greatest egomaniac in AFL Footy!

Great article this..

"My whole footy role has been just so refined with no real leadership duties, a fresh club, being appreciated by the head coach and everyone above him," Steele told AFL.com.au after starring in Sunday's win over Gold Coast.

Hilarious how St Kilda fans try to blame Steele for feeling aggrieved as if he had stole from them over his time as captain earning 800k+.

The fans and the club are a complete shambles. You have Ross Lyon not only defending the convicted rap*st as a “good kid” after knowing him “for so long” but also expressed sympathy for Jo and Stephen without knowing expressing any sort of empathy towards the victim. He also had his own issues with sexual harassment at Fremantle.

They also treated Josh Battle like [censored]. I have my personal issues with them myself, but if you are St Kilda, instead of blaming the northern clubs, how about you clean up your own backyard and take accountability for the lack of success?

Food for thought…

If fit Jack walks in. With the improvement in Sparrow we know have a dangerous mix of inside and outside. Jack can be used in bursts. It's easy to forget what a maniac the bloke is and how his presence confers a lot of pressure on the opposition.

The midfield, which I expected to go backwards, suddenly looks a strength.

Sure, with 5 on the Bench Viney could play half a game. Sparrow has become the player we were hoping for after the GF

St.Kilda have always been on the edge of oblivion, apart from the Alan Jeans years

I mean why would you re employ Ross Lyon after he completely shafted the Club 10 years ago.

Only the Saints would consider that option.

I would love to see Jack Steele win the B&F if his form continues

I will never understand this, nor will I understand the club and fans welcoming him back like he was some kind of messiah. He left the club high and dry to chase success from an established list, then proceeded to waste that talent with them getting to a Grand Final but totally #### the bed.

Getting Ross back is going to set their club further back, and the spending on B+ players at A+ to star players prices is going to set them back further again with Tassie coming in.

Lyon has been involved in some of the worst trades in history.

Fell out with Luke Ball who walked to the Pies

Recruited Andrew Lovett.

Recruited Colin Sylvia who was effectively traded for Bernie Vince

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I wasn’t in the country when Jack was at his best, is he near that now or still off a bit?

He seems to be bloody awesome on and off the field and such a blessing for us to have so I’m curious on how he used to be.

2021 - 26 Brownlow votes

i.e. pretty good.

Ye ye. I was more trying to figure out if he is playing the same, I’m the aspect of body style, movement with ball in hand or not, tackling hard. Etc

He’s a weapon, that’s for certain, St Kilda really let that one slip

Sorry not to expand on your specific requests - thought you were starting from a low base.

Body style - fit and working well.

Movement with ball in hand - all good thank you very much.

Tackling hard - single figures this week (probably becuase he had so much of it himself) - 16 last week, nullifying Cripps et al.

Perhaps most of all - being respected by the coach for what he brings. St Kilda may have wanted something else - but they could have had both if they had kept him.

Steele found a teammate with 24 of his 26 possessions

The DE percentage is sometimes subjective but 92% is fantastic for a midfielder who will often be under pressure when disposing of the ball

He doesn't mind body contact when dishing off and that's an admiral trait

On top of that, 8 tackles, 7 score involvements and 11 clearances. Wow!!

Great stats.

Didnt know he was the effective.

Gee, Salt & Vinegar though...

Our bad, right? They would’ve accepted plain chips.

Laurie Fowler type is Jack Steele

Sometimes unobtrusive but keeps getting the job done, week in, week out

Wins the ball well, tackles well, puts his body on the line and takes the hit. Uses the ball well and is a quick thinker. Very good defensively

Wears the no.9 as did Fowler

Laurie was a bit unobtrusive as well but the MC back then saw fit for him to win 3 x B & F's

It's Game Day on Friday night. ANZAC Eve. The big stage at the ‘G. The Demons return to the spotlight for one of our most significant nights on the football calendar, taking on the Tigers in a clash that always carries extra weight given the gravity of occasion of the commemoration of the ANZAC Spirit. Under the lights, in front of a packed house, this is where moments are made. Can the Dees rise to the occasion and deliver on the big stage, or will Richmond spoil the night? All the build-up, discussion, and in-game reactions here. Go Dees.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

Before Sunday, the last time the Brisbane Lions had walked onto the turf of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, they celebrated the pinnacle of the sport - an AFL premiership secured in emphatic fashion for the second consecutive year.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
