Personally I canโ€™t see a world where GC give up Humphrey and then throw in a pick. Itโ€™ll be him for Trac if we get very very lucky.

Sticking by Clarry might be the best thing Goody did.

If Clarry leaves for nothing and tears it up for GWS, what does that say about King?

Iโ€™m all in on King. Moving Trac if we get Humphreys, very smart. Moving on Clarry, Iโ€™m not so sure.

Iโ€™m with you. But unfortunately Goody / leadership let the culture fester. From a distance, it seems like there were highly touted, big contract premiership players and the new kids were second class citizens.

The questions for GC is do they love Humphrey more than they want Petracca. We need to stand firm in my view which also reflect our messaging to this point. Pick 6 and 7 (which likely become 10 and 11) in an allegedly middling draft is not worth it even with the $$ saved for future war chest. Below is the last 10 years of pick 10 and 11 and whilst in JT we trust shows how hit and miss it can be.

Thank you @Lil_red_fire_engine. I cannot find one credible person who say the 2025 draft is "terrible", "weak" or any other pejorative adjective.

Says FA about King and a shed load about Goody.

The fact is we struggled as a team on field with Clarry and Tracc. Some good games especially by Tracc (B&F runner up) but we lost 6 close ish games so where are our match winners? Who?

Can't blame the club for moving on so many players. Time for our young players to come on and new draftees to be introduced.

I'd like to call you a Tim Lamb. It's all too hard give them what they want attitude. It just doesn't cut and if he does it again his head should roll.

May and Oliver are the problems get rid of those 2 especially Oliver and you'll see a happy Trac if he stays. We won't be considered to have a poor culture then.

Trac for Bailey straight swap is a win for us IMO. Look at it like this....

  • In 2014 we draft Petracca at pick 2. ๐Ÿ‘

  • Trac goes on to be a 4 time AA and play 212 quality games.๐Ÿ‘

  • Trac helps win the drought breaking flag and wins a Norm Smith Medal. ๐Ÿ‘

  • As Trac is about to turn 30 (and past his prime) we trade him for a 21 version of him self. ๐Ÿ‘

  • Bailey potentially plays 10-12 years (200-250 games) for the Dees with an enormous ceiling. (hopefully some silverware) ๐Ÿ‘

  • In essence, that original pick 2 gets us Trac and Bailey, both in there primes and gives us 25 odd years of high end midfield talent. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

We also have the benefit of clearing space on the our cap, getting rid of a player who doesn't want to be at our club, and setting up our midfield for the next decade with Koz, Humphrey and Langford, XL, Windsor etc .

Getting another early pick back in the trade would be awesome but its a pipedream. The only way that happens is if we offer future firsts in return. If we are lucky enough to get Bailey to choose us.....Take and run!

Oliver & Goodwin is why our culture fell away & peeved trac off

May fought openly on the field and off the field with his teammates.

Oliver is still doing the things off field that would make Adam Kingsley rethink his interest in him.

Petracca is at times insolent based on our terrible efforts of being a footy club.

There are degrees and I do not think King wants to just โ€˜get rid of himโ€™ the way he wants to do with Oliver.

Think Iโ€™m with you. 7 and 17 makes no sense and would spook too many horses.

So Tracโ€™s diva behavior is not at all a cultural issue? Sure thing.

Let's face it. In 2024 and 2025 neither Trac nor Clarrie were dominant in our wins as, for example, Maxie or Cozzie.

I believe that Tracca is still recovering from his injury (even if only mentally) and Clarrie is disillusioned because this year they treated him disrespectfully like a spare parts player and tagger instead of the outstanding champion he has been. Trying to get him to conform to team plans might only stifle his game. Time to play off his strengths and let him run free. He is that good.

They have lost their respective mojos. While I don't want to see them go out of loyalty, if it allows others to step up and perhaps develop into leading players, then so be it. If they end up staying, I will not be upset but will welcome them.

Are you seriously telling me you turn down such an offer?

4 hours ago, WERRIDEE said:

I never said he was no good he was excellent until we won the Premiership. He's been hit and miss since then. Langford is a hit, but it looks like Jefferson is a miss, Kolt could be a miss, too early to tell about Lindsay and Windsor didn't come on this year.

Don't worry about Lindsay and Windsor, both will be 200 gamers

Thought about this somewhat and concluded that If Clarry was ever going to get back we would have seen something - by now. We havenโ€™t really even had a dominant quarter or half from memory. I remember watching him in 200th and thinking he is really trying in RIs game and it was having little to no impact.

I donโ€™t think itโ€™s his MH or fitness either. I just think heโ€™s body is letting him down and he has lost mobility and agility to the extent where he comes back to the field of midfielders.

I doubt heโ€™ll ever tear it up.

I donโ€™t agree with Trac as itโ€™s a selfish approach, no question Goodwin and co handled player behaviour poorly, King Lokiโ€™s like he wants to fix this

Yes it's not enough we should demand pick 7 as well Trac is proven Humphrey is not.

Give him another year on his contract as a sweetener.

Exactly. Itโ€™s mind-blowing that many on here donโ€™t see this. Cultural problems can take many forms, itโ€™s not just Goodwin, Oliver, May and Hunter who were to blame.

You can also throw in the enablers in the former administration too.

Clarry is more loved by his teammates than Trac is right now

You can keep pretending that Trac isnโ€™t a problem or you can realize that we are entertaining trading him because he is.

Interesting. King has seen the impact of high numbers of high-maintenance players at the cats. Kelly, Stengle, Dempsey.....

In the end, you lose.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven Mayย

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
