Probably because Craig Cameron could not be anymore emphatic that BH won't be traded.

I'm taking Cameron at his word.

And it's only Friday...

Lots of fun and games still to play out.

Melbourne at start of trade week....

I don't believe it has , nor should change ..

Overview

Melbourne list boss Tim Lamb stated that while Christian Petracca is contracted for four more years, the club will only entertain a trade if it's in Melbourne's best interest

. He has said they will only deal if a quality offer is made that will improve the club's future premiership prospects. It is understood that a potential deal with the Gold Coast Suns or Adelaide Crows would require the interested club to "pay up".

  • Melbourne's stance: The club is adamant that Petracca will be a Demon next year unless a trade is agreed upon that benefits Melbourne significantly.

  • Trade conditions: The club is looking for a "quality offer" that will improve the list, with list boss Tim Lamb stating, "If someone wants him, come and talk to us – and pay up".

  • Potential suitors: Both Gold Coast and Adelaide are interested in Petracca, but the Demons want the Suns to get more involved in negotiations due to their stronger draft hand.

  • Alternative: If a suitable trade is not reached, Petracca is expected to remain with the club and play out his four-year contract.

Stay true Dees .

I hope we haven't been spun some wild porky pies about secret meetings. If the media got wind of a meeting between the Dees and BH falling through they would be all over it like a bad rash. Radio silence. There probably never was a meeting.

Can't wait for how our insiders are going to spin this one.

Was an underwhelming crop, but remember scratching my head on why McLuggage didn't go pick 1, why Shai Bolton wasn't a first rounder and why we didn't bother bidding on Josh Daicos with pick 46. He didn't project to be a world beater, but we had been linked with some interest, what did we have to lose at that point?

McLuggage was the #1 on the draft board I had access to. Choosing a back pocket in McGrath at #1 was perplexing.

I did a full package of reports on Daicos. He was undervalued at the time. I had him just inside the top 25. There were some clubs that thought about bidding as Collingwood didn’t seem to be too interested. The theory was, they’d select him late in order to keep Nick on the path but wouldn’t match an early bid.

Are you serious? First meeting there were pictures that everyone saw. How does someone spin that out of nothing. Hang tight! I cant vouch for everything else others have written but what have I released is spot on. I'm waiting for more. I believe this meeting has concluded already.

Was told it was held in Maffra on one of Bailey's mates property that he is looking after whilst they are away

We now have to wait unfortunately. Lets see: (a) how much Bailey wants to come home (b) how considerate the GC suns are willing to help him (c) if GC let him go

We have now done all we can to facilitate it. We have given our word that if GC agree we will get a deal done (Might be harder, but we are happy to flex) What that means I dont know

Yep, 2nd rd would have been about right for Josh given his junior performances as a small forward. Would have loved us to have a throw at the stumps in the 3rd rd.

Maffra a long drive from Melbourne. Wouldn't be making that drive if you weren't a decent chance of getting a deal done. 💎🙏🏻

Trac will be dealt for those 2 firsts and Humphrey will make it to Hawthorn in 2027

This is the likely reality sadly.

Time to start brushing up on the first round draft prospects likely around our range. From all the talk of weak draft that we actively traded out of, I'm not expecting JT to work wonders this year and feel he's had a few obvious misses the past few drafts. We're losing an unarguable gun midfielder in Trac who I don't think we'll be able to replace.

The next few year are going to be rough I fear.

I can’t speak to a meeting today but I was told that the club hoped to have direction from player and manager by the end of today. When I saw the post about another meeting I thought, “that makes sense from what I have heard”.

With anything this time of year, the stories and rumours won’t all come to fruition but that doesn’t mean there isn’t truth to them.

We are desperate to land BH. We’ve thrown everything at him. We are facing significant barriers. It might happen. It might not. And if we don’t land him, it doesn’t make people on here who give updates of what they’ve heard incorrect.

Home of one of my favourite local hard cheeses! You know…for a CHEESE BOARD. Welcome to the Dees, Humpy.

Correct. I would put my house on the information I am given that it is spot on. I don't come on here all year long. I dont spruce stuff throughout the year. Im not here to make friends. I have nothing to gain by passing this on. I enjoy reading many of your posts when I am, but by god I cant believe how pessimistic some are.

I am assuming everyone here are adults and have the ability to believe what they want and when they want. I will not list the things that have come to fruition AGAIN.

Do you homework and make a judgment yourself.

Bold of you to assume everyone here is of sound "adult" status.

Ignore the haters, thanks for your contributions

We are definitely a chance. It comes down to (a) how much Bailey wants to come home (b) how considerate the GC suns are willing to help him (c) if GC let him go

or someone having nudes of Craig Cameron to blackmail him haha

Surely (a) is a given otherwise everyone is wasting their time.

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
