Why is it 'caving'?

I think I know what the most pragmatic approach in this situation...

Well it’s just an observation, ‘innit.

Nothing in the press, nothing on any other social media but a helluva lot here.

I’m genuinely curious if this is the biggest shadow-jump we’ve ever had here.

Because we should be stealing some Blackhawks and rescuing BH from the Suns. Take him by force. Contract be damned. That’s what Collingwood would do… or Hawthorn.

How often are we all on the same page though? This is rare. Maybe it is 130 pages of nothing as you say but for mine it’s 130 pages of a bunch of tragics airing their feelings. At the very least it’s harmless.

Such a great visual

Anyway... it's the same angst every year at this time on the forum.

Why are no players of any worth committing to us publicly ---> we're a rabble

Why do we always get bent over in trades ----> we're a rabble

Why do we always pay over ----> we're a rabble.

Lamb is the worst!-----> we're a rabble.

Every team (aside from Geelong) goes through these peaks and troughs...

Hope Gold Coast know that what goes around comes around

Wonder how many of their non QLD boys will be keen to sign long term deals, when they are seeing their teammate held against his will despite having compassionate grounds to leave.

Must be some kind of Demonland record, no?

Hah - not even close!

Well maybe just maybe the coach understands this, and is holding someone important to his contract.... and damned the expense and cost of it -as it wont be on his watch, when they all leave.

Maybe they're upset (the suns) about Kalani choosing Melbourne over them 🤪😂 #sourgrapes

This thread has not even reached the "it's Jack Watts' fault" stage

except both those club are, similarly, struggling to get deals done

look at merrett and de goey - former has made it clear he wants out of the peptides and the deal is in limbo while the latter has appeared very late in the trade period as a chance to leave his club, who are pushing him out, but there's not necessarily any other club keen to pick his $800-900k contract per year for a bloke who plays less than half a season for the last two seasons

half of the trade period is simply media bluster to sell advertising

It's very possible that the Suns have told Bailey that while contracted he will not be traded under any circumstances and he his now holding up the Petracca deal. A public commitment to the Suns helps the GC get the deal done with the Dees with picks.

Or the dees have asked GC to shut it down more effectively so we can proceed with a pick-focused discussion

Tom Scully's mum's dog toe nail clipper informs me that Bailey is still a chance

Could we use Petracca picks to crash the Zach Merrett party if we can’t land Bailey? Would have a lot more currency than the Hawks.

Not nothing at all. There have been some great gifs

More likely one of pick 7/8 attractive to Hawthorn to help them close the deal…

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
