The fact that 'Barry' is entertaining a move is a positive as is our war chest that has suddenly appeared

I prefer ‘Gerry’… then we could offer him the comfort of knowing he’d be the club’s loved one.

I truly believe they don’t care either way.

Several years ago when GC were deadbeats, sure, but today I reckon AFL House would just be standing out of the way and letting the Suns continue what they seem to have done pretty well last couple of years.

Perhaps, but this is a high profile get for them. Some are comparing it to Gary Ablett Jnr (laughable I know).

This is about increasing their marketability and growing their club in the northern markets. That's something which is hard to do without big name players or big time success. Trac could bring both.

Petracca is worth at least two first rounders and even stated by media as such.

I'd consider giving them our 2027 first rounder in the compromised tassie draft.

3 first rounders done.

I think many on here over rate where Petracca sits in the league as a mid. He’s hesitant of forceful body contact, has terrible disposal, can burn others in better spots and isn’t quick. Yes he’s still got other attributes that make him a really good player but Humphrey has way more upside and could lead our midfield for a decade. GC aren’t giving us Humphrey and picks. That’s a dream, Humphrey is very likely a dream. I could easily see us sending pick 23 and Petracca to them if indeed Humphrey somehow nominates us.

Unfortunately we couldn't have picked a worse coach to deal with. He hates Melbourne, and he is a pr!(k!

He really is.

We should tell Humphrey you can:
A) Come to Melbourne and play under a solid citizen.
B) Stay at Gold Coast and play under a sovereign citizen.

Try Petracca and our future first, as a starting point.

No we need next years first because it could well be pick 3

One of the posts of the year

Not saying it would be a wise move, but that's what it would cost.

Tom Morris just said that if Melbourne ask for Humphrey in the Petracca deal then Gold Coast will walk away.

Reckons they would ask for 3 first round picks.

Sounds like they're ready to negotiate if they're putting a price on it.

I feel like if we desperately wanted Humphries (which I hope we do), it may have to be a straight swap, with maybe steak knives going both ways. They also won’t let him go for unders unless he forces the Suns hand, which is unlikely. Still a lot to play out.

Lawson?

Lawson?

This is evidence of what happens to me when I stay up until 4am multiple days in a row. Would entertain a Lawson Humphries trade too tho

3 first round picks are not going to turn the heads of Guerra & King...Trac better get comfy at Casey.

If The Brand © is reading this then he's probably just spat out his morning Brand Flakes ©

Pretty simple

If Humphrey doesn't want to come over, then Trac stays put

In a weaker draft it would be pretty silly to lose him for 2 picks

It’s embarrassing that Oliver is on a boat while Trac is at Metricon and the beach for dinner. While we’re walking Humphrey around the tan.

or taken him on a tour of Melbourne and shown him the machete amnesty bins or the fully sick alleyways.

Morris misunderstands where the decision lies, it’s not with GC, but with Humphrey.

I recon GC need to be seen and act in support of their player’s decisions, so if Humphrey indicates MFC then GC will facilitate… not block.

They can easily block because he is still in contract regardless of whether he nominates..

How many times have seen contracted players request to trade only to not happen because the club hold all the power.

Dunkley, Daniher, Papley are just prime examples.

Pretty sure we aren’t going to get anything but draft picks for Petracca. Being 7/13.

Humphries has been speaking to Hawthorn all year, and sat down with them again after Kingy and Jonesey did.

He’s also been speaking to Collingwood.

Let’s be real here, aside from Trac on the table, what else do we have?

I’d sure as hell go with Hawks over us.

Hawks and Pies don't have a trade to make that would satisfy the Suns, so that's irrelevant.

Here is the thing tho, if a Victorian kid is chatting to 3 Melbourne clubs with years remaining on his contract, then the reality is that he's a flight risk.

GC must know that one day he will want to move on, and when he's OOC and asks to move, they'll get 5 cents in the dollar for him. Or, they can bite the bullet now and get something very valuable for him.

We're about to have an enormous release of pressure on the salary cap.

Reckon Hawks just want to disrupt a potential trade with us so they can go for Humphrey next year.

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.
