Worked his way back after a slow start and a further slump in form going into the midseason but became a solid contributor for the club in the latter half of 2025. Closing in on 300 goals for the club.

Date of Birth: 6 December 1996

Height: 188cm

Games MFC 2025:  22

Career Total: 171

Goals MFC 2025: 36

Had a baby, started slowly, but with ball come into fifty a little faster and better, could get back to 50 plus goal kicker!

Great to see him coming back into form after a poor start to 2025. (Chris Snott of course would say he had some issues that he would’t divulge)

Hope he gets back to his very best and kicks another 6 in the 2026 GF.

Agree he had a bit of a slow start, but in the latter half of the season, definitely saw some progress and seemed to have his passion back. Definitely a keeper—but I’ve got my biases :)

Felt like he had the riot act read to him midway through the season, as he found some mojo and his half forward efforts were part of a welcome return to form. I was ready for a trade early on but now think keep.

Found a way to improve his form mid-season when others couldn't, showed some genuine grit in the process. A good year on the whole for Fritta.

Fritsch's attitude and performance for 2 years has been appalling. Had a good second half of 2025 but took way too long to get dropped. So many game he had zero impact at half time

The Fritsch we saw in the second half of the year was a very good player and team mate. That's the intensity he needs to bring every week.

went from being the deepest forward to playing a more roaming role in the back half of the year and he looked completely freed up and much more impactful as a result

one of the few players who i have faith in in front of goal

Had an awful second half of 2024 and a lousy first 9 or so rounds of 2025.

However he was back to his best in the second half of 2025 and is a key requirement for next year.

I assume he's not on the trade table.

During the second week of the trade period you may see media reports that Fritta was spotted at Brisbane airport, which naturally means he’s meeting with the Lions, right? He will indeed be in Brisbane but that’s because he and Nat (his partner) will be attending Nat’s best friend’s wedding, and for no other reason.

Love Fritta, I will be very interested to see how King plays him next year, agree with previous posters he had a strong second half as he appeared to overcome his lingering foot injury. We need Bayley back to his absolute best in 2026.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
