Are we sure we want to get rid of Trac? Polling plenty of votes in a so called down year.

Maybe you should ask Trac that question

Not sure we are “getting rid” of anyone

Taranto on 20 votes. The perfect example of Umpires being blinded by midfielders.

On what planet has Taranto had a better year, in a worst team, than Gawn???

Jeremy Cameron 88 goals

12 votes

ridiculous

Taranto has had an outstanding year, playing well in just about every game. Deserves his votes. Maybe Max deserves a few more.

As much as I hate reliving THAT moment...

NWM not polling the three votes is the shock of the night.

Ha viney got the 3 against stkilda.

In saying that I remember he had a great 3 quarters. But even the Melbourne table had a laugh.

In no way did NWM not deserve 3 votes, but it’s a reminder that we were by far the better side for most of the afternoon.

The Brownlow voting system drives me crazy. Tradition, my a***. The AFL has changed everything else about the game to make an extra buck, why not change this so that ALL the best players are in the mix!

If ever you needed proof that umpires have NFI that vote proves it.

How does NWM not score 3 in his match winning performance is beyond me.

He was so clearly the best and most influential player on the ground. It’s indisputable!

If ever there was a reason to take away the voting from the umpires its this game.

[censored] what a howler.

It's official. Umpires are blind and do not understand the game

Tbh. I don’t.

That was a hammer in the coffin that sealed Goodies fate, and which I loved goody, they needed change.

Plus, the way I see it, they’ll learn a heap from that game and it shouldn’t happen ever again. (Fingers crossed)

While Rowell is on 34 votes, there is only one defender above 5 votes

Time to change the voting panel to a panel of footy experts

Well from the audience reaction it looks like Viney over NWN wins the WTF award for the night.

This year it sounds like he’s less fussed on leaving (if you believe the media) so why don’t we just keep him?

Talented players like him don’t grow on trees.

Is daicos going to be the new bont? Just keeps being the runner up?

Collingwood fans will riot if he's runner up 3rd year in a row

NWM 1000000% definitely deserved the 3, but Viney had 16 tackles in that game, which is huge.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
