maybe its because I'm a grump today but I'm finding it hard to listen to abbey holmes

brilliant spoil from Goldy there. started 2 meters behind her opponent

the girls just need to keep playing as they have. Both sides seem equally fatigued .

dont go defensive

Purcell injury such a downer. We don’t have anyone else who can do what she does.

Lily Johnson late in and 11% game time. Didn’t play the first half. Just 35% in the third. That’s interesting.

That is quite bizarre.

Saraid Taylor, whom i thought would be a weak link, has been very solid

Made the most of her limited game time with a nice running goal

Outstanding performance.

no weak links. everyone contributed.

we're right in it this year

thoughts with Purcell. hopefully the news is not what we fear.

Loved Paxy’s game today, winding back the clock!

Paxy and Lize Mac do a rock-paper-scissors coming out of the huddle at the start. Selecting wings?

It's so deflating. She's a contested gun and the best handballer in the comp.

I think Heath has improved yet again. I wonder if she can do something roughly similar.

I thought she was a flanker, through 2 weeks she’s looking like a solid full back! Covering for injuries really well.

Heath is underrated as a contested mid but she’s better tackling and winning the ball in space as well as tagging the oppositions best players. She’s as tough as anyone but at some stage her lack of size plays a role.

With our current supply of key forwards I’d go with Zanker in there. Mackin once she builds her match fitness back has a strong body and gives good run. But I’d also think about Chappy especially if Gillard rehabs well.

Grace Beasley showed signs of a very good inside mid last year but it’s a tough ask back from a knee in just her second year.

Thank goodness for the women.

Complete performance. Good luck giving votes.

Yes, at least our girls know how to be ruthless.

Another positive. We’re not leaving any percentage behind. 2 weeks running we’ve filled our boots.

Best game I’ve seen from her. Great start to the year!

Watching it on replay now (was out and about today) just saw Livvy Purcell's knee injury - flexing twisting - textbook ACL mechanism. Has there been any news/reports? Disaster if it is as bad as it looked

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
