A couple of little ones.

1) a lot of Dees supporters are having a crack at St Kilda supporters for celebrating like they'd won the flag. I guarantee you we would have been carrying like pork chops if we mowed down a 46 point lead. I guarantee you Collingwood supporters would've celebrated just as hard even if they came from 46 against North or West Coast. It was just an incredible achievement to win from so far back and it's only natural for a fan of any team to go off their head after a win like that.

2) Melksham giving it to the St Kilda crowd when he put us 43 points up half way through the third should've aged well but didn't.

3) Windsor giving NWM a round of applause after he produced a rare stuff up most certainly didn't age well.

I can't stand Ross Lyon and I don't rate the St Kilda list at all, but it was an absolute all-timer. Monumental win.

When you put aside the bitterness and shame of the loss (which I understand many are not ready to do), it's hard not to admit Wanganeen-Milera is an absolute joy to watch.

Agree with all of that.

St Kilda will end the season winning 4 of their last 5 games (they now play 3 bottom 4 sides in a row) and head into 2026 sky high with confidence, and they'll trace it back to the win over us. However in reality they had lost their prior 6 games, they were worse than putrid for 3 quarters on Sunday, and I could not believe how easy they were to play against through to 3 quarter time.

Not sure if it has been posted (I saw it on Instagram) but Gawn’s interview on Triple M was quite revealing.

• He confirmed he was personally made aware of our first 6-6-6 warning in the 2nd Quarter

• Claimed responsibility for the 2nd violation, but said he had only a few seconds to determine where the players were and wasn’t able to

• Said the Club has “forgotten how to win”and cited his own kick across goal, which led to the spat with May, as an example

The last point is something we have probably suspected but interesting it was admitted publicly. The issue of course is, if the captain isn’t able to show the team how to win, I’m not sure who is?

Most of our senior players have failed in similar moments over the years: I recall Lever giving away free kicks in the finals, May dropping chest marks and getting stuck into teammates, Viney and Oliver blazing away, and of course most of our forwards missing important goals. I think one of the only cool heads on the list is Melksham. It’s a shame he’s not a few years younger, and very unfortunate he was missing in the final minutes.

Winning 4 of their last 5 games is the worst thing that could happen to St Kilda IMO. They are going nowhere, having beaten just us (twice) over the last 12 weeks, and in one of those games finding themselves 46 points down to us. They were, as you say, rubbish for 75% of the game.

Late season wins against bottom 4 sides might feel nice but will paper over the cracks, and Ross Lyon will yet again escape scrutiny for another failed year.

At the very least, our collapse is forcing the blowtorch onto us.
