We looked similarly good for half a quarter in NT. We've been well on top of them but Saints have locked down games multiple times all year. They are a hardcore "margin minimisation" team. Give them a sniff and they score quickly.

Lindsay let that tackle go.

One umpire said not 15, while the other was screaming pay it, pay it. Didn't have much choice but to let go. Chaos

Windsor looks great around stoppages, early days but his best game for the year

Kozzie getting heaps of attention

He destroyed them last time we played. Same as NWM did us. No wonder they’re paying him close attention.

The bump on XL far more problematic than the May incident last week—was intentional and was not a play on the ball. But it won’t even result in a fine much less a suspension.

Would be nice to c JVR grab a game by the scruff of the neck and take off from there.

Had one of his worst games for the year against them what are you talking about ?

Sterling quarter of footy. 6 marks inside 50 and delivery some of our best this season. Leading tackles 21 to 12 as well.

If we started more games this year with even half this intensity I'd have no doubt we'd be playing finals.

I hope we don’t switch off.

Expect a few changed tactics from Ross, which will get the Saints back in the game.

My mistake I got the rounds confused

Still, he’s our most damaging player

100%. Intentional front on bump late after the ball had left the area. Barely registered a free kick and won't even get looked at. The game is f****d

My god after 30 minutes after getting in I finally found a seat.

It was like a maze. Every part of level 3 we went to was shut & the part that was open on the wing was packed.

Now found a spot behind the goals.

This stadium is frustrating

Thanks. I'll stop feeling guilty about never going to Darklands.

Fantastic Fritta with five marks.

Vintage Viney.

Precision from Chin.

Prolific Rivers.

Our best quarter for the year.

Good start today. Amazing what a difference more accurate shooting does...

Good to see Fritsch smashing it in the air and on the scoreboard!

Fritsch looking very good. Playing as a half forward provides so much more options up forward with the separation and making us a lot more unpredictable.

He isn’t as physical as McCreery, but similarities are there in terms of the hard running Fritsch has been doing over the last few weeks, first class.

The goal sense that Fritsch possesses at his best cannot be coached. Hoping he doesn’t leave.

Yeah unfortunately windhager smashed kozzy last time, revenge today i hope

Why take Fritsch off? It's not like he was gassed

Sums up our year

Zero common sense

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
