    A bit of humility would’ve been nice. Instead, he bolted out of the gates, the swashbuckling opener, and was his own biggest fan. His current run of failure might serve as a deflating of his big head.

    He's a New South Welshman. Will certainly get a better run at it than the Renshaw's of this world

    More importantly their mums. My granddaughter plays basketball her mother ( my daughter) thank god she is not interested inAFL.

    I’ve not met a single MFC kid who is cocky and ahead of himself like Konstas is, not even close.

    I don’t doubt he’ll become a great batsman but he needs to remember he’s not there yet.

    He absolutely lost me when he told Jasprit to “get back to your mark!” That’s disrespectful to say the least. Says a lot about him character-wise.

    players on ground say all sorts of rubbish; there's many stories about the dees circa 2015-19 being VERY lippy

    We let warner go on 1 summer to late. Should never have let him dictate when he got to retire. We needed to settle on an opening pair ages ago.

    Mind you usman isn't going much better

    Admittedly, Essendon have such a lengthy injury list that it’s now an automatic 4 points when you play Essendon till the end of the season.

    i live in thanks that we won't lose to them twice in a season, as playing an injury-ravaged peptides is exactly the sort of game where we kick 7.21 to lose by 3 or so goals

    What’s with the media making excuses for Essendon?

    This was their spine against Richmond:

    B: Laverde, Ridley, Redmond

    Mid: Merrett, Duursma, Durham, Tsatas

    Forward: Wright, Kako, Caddy

    On top of Setterfield, Prior, McGrath and Clarke.

    Still enough quality there to beat Richmond.

    Injuries are a reason, never an excuse. Dogs and GWS have done extremely well in face of personnel and injury concerns.

    Swans season alive according to Derwayne. They’re three games and percentage out of the 8 with four games to play.

    “Mathematically possible”, I guess. Them winning 4 on the trot and neither Bulldogs or Freo winning again seems fairly long odds.

    Edit: it can be any two of Freo, Bulldogs, Hawthorn, Suns, GWS or Geelong to have to lose 4 on the trot, as well as Sydney going WWWW. Anyway, not happening.

      It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

      When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
