He doesn't get to enough contests and he doesn't put himself in a position to receive the ball , seems to get stuck in no man's land , he needs to read the play better , link up more with his team mates, be in better position to be able to have an impact. He has to start to hunt the football, want the football , be first to the football, demand the football, he should also be at the drop of the football more than he is especially around goal .

He never seems to be in the picture when watching on tv and alot of the time you do see him he is not in a position to be able to have an impact.

I think Demonland should shut down posters calling for posts to be shut down.

Demonland having a policy is like saying seagulls have a code of conduct. Sure, they do — right up until someone drops a chip, then it’s screeching, eye-gouging, and a fight to the death over who played worse, Kolt or the Airplane.

The policy is pretty simple. Don't open the thread if you don't want to read it.

Just like eKaren you want to control what people say

yep - i hope both are played until end of season ... while it pains me that Armagedon get our first round, thus us losing helps Dingy Hill, we have to play, play, play the battlers

Just adding to this that Goodwin joined us in 2014 as the "senior assistant" anointed to take over from Roos, and thus would have had just as much input into 2014 and 2015...

To the extent that either Roos or Goodwin had substantive input or a final say. There's an SEN interview with Tim Lamb post flag in 2021 where he credits the build to Jason Taylor and in particular, Tod Viney who "was really instrumental in setting the framework around how we would assess players and what we would look for and what would stand up in finals and therefore Grand Finals".

Thank you for your words of advice. Enjoy life and continue with your kind approach to friend and foe alike. And if its nit an inconvenience could you tell me about eKaren please?

Pretty sure that’s me, 48. Folks run the risk of getting banned for playing the man, not the ball so now they’re forced to allude to people when insulting them rather than directly insulting them. Certain posters are nasty bastards but at least they’re following the Demonland rules.

Not directed at you.

Its just sad and pathetic to allow people to uneccesarily find fault with a second year player who should be learning the game from skilled teachers- coaches.

Its not his fault we drafted him

Not his fault we picked him way before he is capable of playing at AFL level.

If I was his him or his parents and read the talk here Id be out of the place as soon as I could.

The Club stinks from the head down to some so called supporters.

Quality human, who given a bit more time and experience, will also grow into the quality player that some of us can already see he will be.
(he's just turned 20yo and played a whopping 18 games FFS)

I'll look forward to digging up this thread in a couple of years time 🙂

You're barking up the wrong tree.

We all love Kolt & want him to be a great player.

We are cranky because he has been badly mismanaged this year & was rushed into the firsts without any form or fitness.

Really an appalling effort by 🤡 the Clown

He needs to have a big and injury free preseason. But so do all players.

Establishing yourself as a smaller forward is tough. Hard position to play. Kozzie tearing it up from day one just shows what a talent he really is.

I like him. Can’t expect him to create magic in a forward line consistently leading into the pockets and always congested.

A lot of Kai Lohmann in him imo. Not the quickest, but he is agile, he can leap and take good pack marks. A bit more baulk over the pre season and he can become a really good small/medium forward pressure player.

Asides, first round pick. Worth persisting with.

Im with you in that i too like him and think he can become a decent player with us.

Though I disagree in terms of adding weight. I feel if anything he needs to strip weight as he looks heavy to me with his movement and agility.

Why do you feel the need to refer to our only living premiership coach as a clown

its so juvenile and disrespectful.

second year player, injury interrupted pre season

we should cut him some slack

looking forward to see how he goes next year

I lost all respect following his total BS at endless pressers & his refusal to acknowledge where the team was at.

A 55 year supporter came up with Goodie the 🤡 18 months ago. I find it apt.

I still believe in Kolt. An injury interrupted pre-season in your second year isn’t great. With a new coach and a defined role he’s going to soar in year 3

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #42 Aidan Johnson

The VFL premiership player was recruited from Werribee to alleviate Melbourne’s forward line woes and give a chop out in the ruck, but he managed only five senior matches in his first season at the club. At times, he was a dominant force at VFL level.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #44 Luker Kentfield

An exciting young key forward, Kentfield was selected in the 2024 mid-season draft but has yet to make his AFL debut. He was sidelined by a severe bout of pneumonia over the summer, which consequently limited his pre-season. Upon his return a month into the season, he commenced in defence but ultimately impressed with his progress at Casey, particularly in the latter part of the season as a strong marking goal kicking forward.

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourne’s response to last week’s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coach’s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast. In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourne’s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.
