He doesn't get to enough contests and he doesn't put himself in a position to receive the ball , seems to get stuck in no man's land , he needs to read the play better , link up more with his team mates, be in better position to be able to have an impact. He has to start to hunt the football, want the football , be first to the football, demand the football, he should also be at the drop of the football more than he is especially around goal .

He never seems to be in the picture when watching on tv and alot of the time you do see him he is not in a position to be able to have an impact.

I think Demonland should shut down posters calling for posts to be shut down.

Demonland having a policy is like saying seagulls have a code of conduct. Sure, they do — right up until someone drops a chip, then it’s screeching, eye-gouging, and a fight to the death over who played worse, Kolt or the Airplane.

The policy is pretty simple. Don't open the thread if you don't want to read it.

Just like eKaren you want to control what people say

yep - i hope both are played until end of season ... while it pains me that Armagedon get our first round, thus us losing helps Dingy Hill, we have to play, play, play the battlers

Just adding to this that Goodwin joined us in 2014 as the "senior assistant" anointed to take over from Roos, and thus would have had just as much input into 2014 and 2015...

To the extent that either Roos or Goodwin had substantive input or a final say. There's an SEN interview with Tim Lamb post flag in 2021 where he credits the build to Jason Taylor and in particular, Tod Viney who "was really instrumental in setting the framework around how we would assess players and what we would look for and what would stand up in finals and therefore Grand Finals".

🙋‍♀️

Pretty sure that’s me, 48. Folks run the risk of getting banned for playing the man, not the ball so now they’re forced to allude to people when insulting them rather than directly insulting them. Certain posters are nasty bastards but at least they’re following the Demonland rules.

Not directed at you.

Its just sad and pathetic to allow people to uneccesarily find fault with a second year player who should be learning the game from skilled teachers- coaches.

Its not his fault we drafted him

Not his fault we picked him way before he is capable of playing at AFL level.

If I was his him or his parents and read the talk here Id be out of the place as soon as I could.

The Club stinks from the head down to some so called supporters.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
