Ward - failed to inspire

Carroll - was totally overwhelmed

Bizzell - played with purpose

Bell - little to commend

Yze - a wasted selection

Pickett - fat and disinterested

Davey - just a shadow

Green - had little influence

White - our only winner

Johnson - just plodded along

Holland - gave his utmost

Petterd - showed some class

Frawley - out of depth

Missing a couple?

McLean - not captain's performance

It kills me to say, but you are spot on.

Mind you, nobody else in the leadership group did anything to inspire really.

Brock is still the pick of the bunch, but he had a dirty night. Can't wait to see what he does next week, it will be a true test of character for someone who has plenty of it.

Actually thought Frawley did a couple of nice things.

Petterd's behind did a good job warming the bench for Yze.

Bizzell - played with purpose

Wheatley - good when trying

White - our only winner

Johnson - just plodded along

Holland - gave his utmost

Petterd - showed some class

Godfrey - tried his hardest

Those players are the only ones who can hold their heads up. The rest were horrible.

Ward - Useles

Carroll - Totally useless

Bizzell - Useful

Bell - Extremely useless, could hit a player from 20 metres

Wheatley - useful

Drop half the team, don't put up with this type of effort

OK the above is written in total frustration, but why did we have to cop more of this type of performance, haven't we had enough already this year !!!

Bate - better 2nd half

Pickett - fat and disinterested

Davey - PLAY HIM FORWARD

Green - had little influence

White - our only winner

Johnson - NOT A FORWARD

Holland - why on Richo?

Bruce - trade trade trade

McLean -go to vfl

Godfrey - tried his hardest

Sylvia - slowly slowly improving

ND - WALK AWAY NOW

Carroll - not switched on

Bizzell - poise under pressure

Bell - came back well

Bate - better second half

Wheatley - one of best

Petterd - still got ball

Frawley - often chasing arse

McDonald - a game competitor

McLean - out of touch

Godfrey - main possession winner

Sylvia - a few highlights

Robertson - it didn't work

Jones - tried to lift

Ward - better than Bell

Bruce - didn't step up

Drop half the team........

And replace them with, what exactly?

I don't disagree with you assessment but the reality is this is apparently, and according to learned minds around here, just about our best.

To me skills are a problem but it was the attitude that completely sucked

Drop half the team, don't put up with this type of effort

Better still, leave the team unchanged every week to guarantee a priority draft pick.

Better still, leave the team unchanged every week to guarantee a priority draft pick.

Or perhaps just forfeit?

I think we should raise a white flag from the dressing rooms before the bounce next Friday against Essendon, and let everyone go home, it could be very very ugly, then again they might decide to try next week, who knows, who cares

Ward - hither and thither

Carroll - played out of position

Bizzell - good game

Bell - improved over time

Bate - half of game is brilliant other half (1%ers) is crap

Wheatley - had a go

Yze - pathetic

Pickett - sporadic

Davey - in and out of the game

Green - little value

White - whatever

Johnson - just ok

Holland - gave his utmost

Petterd - showed promise

Frawley - couple of nice things....but next year

Bruce - not impressed

McDonald - very quiet

McLean - not great

Godfrey - tried his hardest

Sylvia - impressed with improvement

Robertson - looked for frees

Jones - red hot go

Bate - better 2nd half

Pickett - fat and disinterested

Davey - PLAY HIM FORWARD

Green - had little influence

White - our only winner

Johnson - NOT A FORWARD

Holland - why on Richo?

Bruce - trade trade trade

McLean -go to vfl

Sylvia - slowly slowly improving

ND - WALK AWAY NOW

occo u have just bloody lost my respect for you saying mclean should be playing VFL!

as bizarre as this is for me to say this..I think ti ought to be pointed ought that Ooze was never going to put in much of an effort...he's obviously carrying more than a niggly and should never have even been picked 9 we all know who should have been but shhhh !! )

I'll allow OOze a free pass on this game..

now as to most of the others....well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brock Mclean- not captain material

-Silly free kicks

lucky he had a better second half..... all i can say....

Daniel Bell-

out of sorts

worst kicking effort

in defence of Brocky he was obviously gang hunted from the first bounce.. Clever ploy by Wallace..it WORKED !! I said days ago dont underestimate Wallace's ability to pull something out of the hat.. Danners needs a hat !!

Brocky had a bad day at the office.. and he will be first to admit it.....sh!t he had plenty of company tonight !!

occo u have just bloody lost my respect for you saying mclean should be playing VFL!

do you mean that occo ever had it?

It would help if brock had some shepard's off the ball like WCE do for judd.

Brownlow Bruce you seem to always want to bag brock out, i know you love bruce and people like myself and others think brock is a better captain option than bruce, but seriously mate, it seems every post you now do you bag out brock.

All it seems to do is show a massive pettyness on your behalf.

What was your rating of Bruce?

Mclean- worst game ive seen him play.

Bruce- kicking still a problem, should never be played down back.

Brock Mclean- not captain material

-Silly free kicks

lucky he had a better second half..... all i can say....

Daniel Bell-

out of sorts

worst kicking effort

Brock copped a heavy tag and was gang raped from the first bounce.

Judd would even find it hard at melbourne with no-one to shephard for him, to give him precision handballs and kicks.

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
