As an emergency why is he in Melbourne?

That tweet was posted yesterday. He surely travelled with the team as the travelling emergency, doesn’t mean there’s definitely a late change.

Well I've got to work today so I won't see a thing & will check the score at 6. 2 weeks ago I did the same thing & got a shock when I saw the Saints score.

Nothing will surprise me today

Me lead her astray?!!! It’s the other way around. Actually we’re as bad as each other. Luckily Scott Frittata - aka the sensible one - is here to rein us in 😅

I dont believe any of that you little scallywag

I will ask him when i see him down the pub later

adelaides collingwood

beat them pls

Will we get the Port that beat the Giants last week or that lost to the dogs by almost 100pts?

Hard to predict this one. But we have been more consistent in the past 6 weeks imo and we’ll role them by 25pts

Reckon Visentini is having Gawn related nightmares??

Or will they start Sweet i wonder?

Look. There are plenty of reasons to despise the Pies, but honestly, my last 4 matches I have been to between us and them (QF final included) the civility has been shockingly good. Kings Birthday last week was a vibe.

I genuinely believe Port have the most rabid fan base and for the only 2 Adelaide Oval matches I have been to to come to the conclusion that they are worse than Collingwood says a lot.

Really hope we put them to the sword.

Also… 😂

I’ll be very impressed if we bring the manic pressure for 4 quarters again. A crushing defeat last week and our season is done.

Let’s see where we are at mentally

Watch them target Gawn. They do it every time. Cheap shots, behind the play. Dirty snipes.

Hopefully he gets some protection. Maybe, May could earn some brownie points back by sorting out a few of these squibs

Umps will do bigger all.

Go dees

Look out Adelaide! Here we come!!!

It is now midday so you must be in fine form then? @Ghostwriter 😂

Another game where we'll have to beat 22 opposition players and 4 hopeless umpires

Should we accidently kick straight we will win comfortably

Bring it on, Dees!

this is not for the season, but for the future

roo needs to step up

rivers and mcvee need to get back to form

still annoyed they dropped tholstrup and didnt manage langford and linsay but that is ok

big day for windsor

I know it's so wrong but if ever an argument for Eugenics was to be right, this photo would do the trick.

salem needs to lift to his 2021 heights

that has been a big loss

Hopefully we will see some more Fritta brilliance today without any heroics and all will be well in Demonland.

I'm hoping that we are so F*c$ed off about the loss that we should have won last week that the anger is channelled with laser accuracy and we give absolutely no mercy. I expect it will be an absolute bloodbath.

The Alberton Blood Bath of June '25 has a kinda ring to it doesn't it?

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons have the Bye next week but then are on the road once again when they come up against the Gold Coast Suns on the Gold Coast in what could be a last ditch effort to salvage their season. Who comes in and who comes out?

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
