    I'm really surprised at the love for Gawny today. Obviously he had some great moments but the couple of kicking clangers really were very poor and hurt a lot.

    Also, I thought that Cameron had more impact around the ground linking for the pies and got into more score involvements.

    1. May. Back to his best the last fortnight and an absolute wall and intercepting well.

    1. Langdon. Wonderful shut down role on someone who sadly is a hell of a ball user - although he's a seagull. Yes we lost Lingers run and carry but it was worth it to stop Daicos who's stats were inflated by some very suspicious decisions going his way and an ordinary 50m penalty.

    1. Kozzy. Three amazing goals and took his chances when he needed to. Probably sometimes tried to hard and got stuck in traffic but I'd rather him doing this then bombing it to no on.

    1. Oliver. He really really really just wants the ball more than the next bloke and one some incredibly one on ones. Good hands at times but still lets us down with the dump kicks occasionally.

    1. Turner. Just good hands, good decisions and tough nut of a player. A lot to love about him

    1. Bowey. Don't recall much damage from the pies smalls and this guy just keeps on negating and rebounding really well. Has been great all year.

    Special mention to Sparrow today as I saw him really going hard at Houston in a defensive role. Not sure if he was on him all game but I just noticed him with him a lot and can't recall Houston rebounding much today which was surprising with our ordinary delivery.

    All of the Age, Herald Sun and AFL.com listed Gawn as our best. In the Herald Sun he received 1 vote (Howe and J Daicos got the 3 and 2), in the Age he received 7 (Howe and J Daicos scored 8). Incidentally, Gawn is now outright second in The Age Player of the Year award behind Bailey Smith. So it seems there was a lot of "love for Gawny" everywhere yesterday, not just on Demonland (with a few notable exceptions). Cameron had three disposals to half time and got 19 hitouts for the game. He rated 10 on CD ranking points to Gawn's 17.6.

    1. May - best game for years. Elliott had little impact.

    1. Langdon - sacrificed his usual role for a masterful hard tag on N. Daicos.

    1. Gawn - another dominant performance in the ruck, and behind the ball (especially in the last).

    1. Turner - solid as a rock. He’s a beauty!

    1. Bowey - continued his stellar season.

    1. Oliver - his competitive nature and ball winning ability were on show. If only he could kick!

    Lots of commendations including Petracca, Pickett, McVee & Fritsch.

    I hate it when we lose games we should win ( albeit with better application) like yesterday or don’t turn up to play like Alice Springs. Makes me feel sheethouse.

    @Demonland sorry all Demonlanders. I can’t give Fritsch a vote or kudos. He needed to go back and nail that goal in the last quarter. 20 metres out slight angle. Crucial mistake. We had the momentum. I know he kicked one from the pocket but his simple errors are costing us.

      Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
