Ch. 9 and ABC are here and of course I made my feelings known to them. 😅

I told the ch. 9 reporter I’ll be watching the news this evening and the report best be favourable. Was gonna Willy Rioli him but it wasn’t necessary, he complied.

The ABC reporter and I chatted at length. She previously worked at ch. 9 and we discussed a certain ch. 9 sports reporter who claims to be a Dees man but doesn’t act like one. Very interesting convo.

as a child? sure

as a full time journalist? not any more

he barracks for the STORY

According to Trent, the ch. 9 reporter, Morris stills claims he’s a Dees supporter

I would have prefered not being in the news at all

Playing soccer or footy at training today Gw?

hopefully Jeffo is training on may to get his physicality up. I wouldnt mind him training on someone like langford or trac, a big body who will push him around a bit. Needs to toughen up imo

A rare treat - a full training run at Gosch's.

Happy to report that all AFL listed players were present.

Hore still in rehab, and Viney doing lots of running (in his concussion protocols). Lever in trainers - does not look to me that he will be playing for Casey tomorrow - let's see.

Those playing for Casey tomorrow morning left the track early, and that included Howes (included in the extended AFL squad).

We will know at 5 pm today, but of the remaining 7 named interchange - Turner, Laurie, Lindsay, Fullarton, Petty, Chandler and Johnson:

Petty looks certain to play forward, Turner was in discussion with TMac, May and Coach Bassett and will play back.

Strong indications that Johnson will play so I would guess that Fullarton and Laurie don't make it (but may travel?).

So either Chandler or Lindsay the sub? Sharp named in the 18.

the 18 doesnt mean anything they can change it. sharp wont play and lindsay sub chamdler playing

An abomination if Chandler is the sub. He has been fantastic all year.

Good to hear all AFL players in attendance. How did AMW and McAdam go, light training presumably?

Thanks as always for your input.

No soccer ball today.

I asked the reporters what the focus of their reports would be. They said they just film the boys and use the footage for whatever story may unfold throughout the day or for a current story. In this case, the footage will likely accompany the report on what Goody said in his presser when replying to a question about Dogga.

He has said it and never denies it.

That is not the issue with him.

Ask them if they like the TRIP out to Casey when we train there.

And the above paragraph is the extent of my contribution to training...hmm

No AMW or McAdam. As LTIs for 2026 (and having been replaced by Henderson and Culley) I don't report them as "absent". Given the nature of their injuries I am not sure we will see them at Gosch's for some time.

It was fascinating to watch Clarrie “tagging” Bill Laurie. He was all over him the entire time, even when the ball was nowhere near them. It actually got to a point where Bill was genuinely [censored] off, such was Clarrie’s very close and prolonged “attention.”

Speaking of Bill, I wished him good luck for Sunday. He said “I’m not playing.” He said he’s an emergency which is why he knows he’s not playing. I’m wondering how these things go: would he have been told he’s not playing? He seemed confident that he won’t be used.

Many thanks for the reports folks! ❤️💙

They make the final team makeup even more intriguing!

Needs a trade Bill. Has some AFL level attributes and hasn't been given a fair go to see if he can develop any others.

That the likes of Henderson were plucked from the VFL and played within 2 weeks was totally unfair. Guy is amongst the hardest trainers at the club and consistently Casey's best player.

Not saying he's A grade or even B or C....but we don't really know do we?

Hard not to disagree.

Has been one of Casey's best everytime he plays and has watched Henderson, Sharp, Tholstrup, Melksham, Spargo all jump the queue... some warranted, some off zero form.

Needs a fresh start and deserves the chance to be elevated to AFL level at a club that actually rewards form. Sounds like our club won't give it to him.

Disappointing when so many of our mid/fwd players have been out of form this year.

The kid has skill. I just think he regularly freezes under the lime light of AFL and potentially lacks confidence amongst his peers.

Big thanks to Ghostwriter, Harvey Wallbanger and all posters and special comments would have loved a bit more detail given it was a full training run but love all the details that come our way.

PS ( Ghostwriter was Kev there today)😁👍

I agree. I liked the draft selection as he's a naturally offensive mid with an eye for goal.

He hasn't done himself too many favours with the opportunity he has had, but I feel he's never been given the 5 game stretch that Henderson, Kolt and many others have enjoyed to see what they've got

It’s a hard ship to turn around - one where you feel like you are not living up to expectation - and I think a reset at another club maybe beneficial to him.

Knowing our luck he’d end up being the next Ambrossio

hearsay; means nothing

tom when queried on the radio has stated his allegiance is towards the story

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
