I can't watch anymore! Disposal is rock bottom. Team full of AFL list and very little to be positive about. Have they no shame? I could rattle off names of poor prformers but will leave it as...

Campbell dominant in ruck contests

Howes prolific at half back

Ummm...

Too many reactive flat-footed players getting burnt on turnover and the less said about our kicking skills the better.

Thought Woewodin, Brown and Adams were our best and Jefferson could have had a reasonable game if he had of converted his chances.

Disappointed with Tholstrups performance after being dropped. Should probably play him through the midfield more to get him around the ball.

Think we should try JvR in defence, looked good in his U18s level as a defender and has the tools to play there.

casey second to the ball, kicking to contests where southport seemed to spoil with ease and then mop up and make us pay on transition. so freaking frustrating. the amount of players in our back half responsible for 2016-era T-Mac turnovers was horrific.

JVR made to look like trash, but at least he appeared to be putting in effort and at least trying to spoil at times (got the impression that he gave up attempting to mark). sad to see how Koltyn played..

didn't mind the look of Deakon Wright and also Blake Howes looked good at times.. other than that, no goooooooood

Howes has definitely struggled at AFL level this year and has made too many critical errors. In particular, fumbles and poor handballs.

Disagree.

1.4 in the second quarter and 0.8 in the third for a grand total of 1.12 for a half. Maybe someone can convince Fev that we're the next basket case that need him for a game. I think he'd perform better than most in our forward line.

23 scoring shots to 24. Gross. Alarm bells have to be going off in the FD.

Confidence? Fitness? Technique? Where we take the shots from? All of the above?

One of the most ridiculous things I've heard this year is two Demons fans calling into senior after our win over the tigers furiously calling for goody to he immediately replaced as senior coach by choco Williams.

Blokes supposedly our kicking coach and in my 50 yearsof supporting the dees I don't think I can remember a list that accross the board is so woeful at kicking.

This.

If Goody survives into '26, then Williams and Richardson must go and credentialed outsiders bought in.

What's badly needed is a stand alone AFL reserves comp, and as you all know I've been saying this since the dawn of time!

Only on the condition that a brass band plays at half-time...

Sorry if I missed it, but did Lever not play in the end?

Jake played, did okay. I'm sure we'll see him in the senior side next week.

We have two former players who are heavily involved in our club, who used to be elite goal kickers. One is our president and the other is Robbo.

Surely we can’t do worse than to have one or both of them spend an hour a week working with our forwards on goal kicking.

This game has reinforced a lot of my views.

JVR is a defender playing forward (and is being played forward because he is a good set shot kick for goal).

Jefferson is a bust.

K Brown could make it.

Sestan could make it.

Howes is a good VFL player.

Culley is way too slow.

Campbell is a very good backup.

Verrell is not strong enough or good enough at ground level.

I don't think Adams is a good enough kick to make it.

Overall, out list management decisions have been too conservative in turning the list over.

Are you [censored] serious?

Every [censored] time Campbell got the ball, it was a guaranteed sharks disposal, if not goal.

He stayed in the ruck far too long, took the ball out of the contest and gave it to the opposition so many times I almost threw up. And crossing the ball to the other side is meant to be done at speed, not with dinky little 15 meter kicks that get spoilt and cut off for a goal.

I thought at least Verrall was clean with his hands, found his targets, and pushed the other rucks out of the way. Pity he was only in there for about 10 minutes.

We had too many players thinking that they were too good for this level today. Trying to run through 3 tackles, or hand balling over their head or while they are diving.

The amount of times that players handballed to a running player, only to put them under immediate pressure, was ridiculous. Southport obviously had been made aware at half time, but we could not stop doing it🤪.

Ollie Sestan was perhaps the only decent player for 4/4.

Only thing missing in this farce was the Benny Hill music being played on the loud speakers.

Agree - Max has said that Choco is coaching him on goal kicking yet Max is worse now than he was 5-7 years ago.

25m out directly in front & cannot be relied on - its truly embarrassing.

To be honest, I think that our players haven’t been given all the tools for every possibility.

In the first half, they looked good running from the back and through the outside. The only issue was the kicking for goal.

In the second half, the players tried to do the same thing, but the Southport players were made aware.

It’s like they were only given a screwdriver which worked for all the screws in the first half. Unfortunately they also needed a hammer, and perhaps some spanners in the second half.

Stats please K.C?

Maybe we should try Howes up front . Only position I would play Jefferson and Fullarton is on the bench preferably a bus one. I would also try Adams as a ruck/forward however non of anyone's idea is going to be implemented as a club we don't think outside the square.

Where does Sestan generally play at Casey and where could he play at AFL level?

Any info appreciated

It sounds like there's a few "spanners" in our squad and coaching this club.

Glad I missed the game.

I'll say it again, we should be utilising Stinnear to coach the blokes and get some other decent coaches on board.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
