What changed imo was the players were playing to their strengths not the desires of the FD. They look like they knew what the had to do. Previous weeks they looked like they were uncertain and hesitent.

I think they were told to hunt Freo and let the game begin at contest, that’s our strength and it brings confidence.

Something that was clear to me today at the ground was there was much better assessment of the setup when kicking out. It wasn’t May’s ‘kick it long to Gawn’ over and over. Instead they looked to create, looking for run and overlap at times and other times precision delivery to work it out slowly by our trusted kickers. Bowey is a great playmaker and I hope when May returns he doesn’t bully his way into taking every kick out.

Totally agree & we kicked it out a lot quicker & got it moving. May takes way to long.

And very much unlike the first 5 games our last quarter's pressure rating was our highest for the game. That's the first time that's been the case.

For me, this game was about Max getting back to his dominant self.

In the past, a stoppage or out of bounds gave us probably a 60-70+% chance of Max getting us possession.

In these 2025 early rounds, I would say, that % dropped significantly, along with Max's impact through general play.

I'm hoping his game against Freo is a clear sign he has got back to his focused, dominant, and happy self as one of our, and the AFL's greats.

Weirdly, his stat's from last week were better, so what do I know. 🤐

Fullarton surely gets another run

Salem’s game was fine

Thought it was one of Howes better games.

Spargo showed why he’s in the side.

If those guys are our bottom 6 that’s fine by me.

Oh and I’d of loved to see Turner play 4 quarters. He was very solid prior to being kneed in the head……nothing to see here, no duty of care required….concuss away! The AFL are an utter clown show.

At Adelaide ground supporters from North Collingwood Hawthorn and Essendon all agreed Max was best on the ground. A couple of them said they wished they had him.

I understand what he did. He’s fine for bottom 6 when 5 of our best are out. He works hard, pressures players with his run and set up a goal to Langford. Not flash but serviceable.

Whilst many accept he shouldn’t get time off for this, and protecting the speccy is high on the AFL agenda, doesn’t Bolton have a duty of care as a player who can elevate himself to head height without having to ride up the opponents back?

I’m of the view the AFL are heavily blinkered when it comes to concussion and it [censored] me that they bandy around duty of care at the tribunal when it suits them.
