Lots of despair on X tonight from North supporters. I know our season is [censored] but thank God we had some recent success.

They are going nuts. I mean they have a good forward line and a pretty handy midfield.

Next week they play port away.

Small forwards. Jesse Motlop 3 goals. 9 tackles. Will White (a young SSP last minute addition ) 3 goals. 5 tackles. Both applied pressure and showed goal sense. When they were within forward 30, they went for goal. Their tackling pressure created goals.

Papley. Cameron. Hill. Stengle. Keays. Curtis. Moore. Higgins. Rankine. Zurhaar. Watson. Rioli. Etc etc. Small forwards for many teams are aggressive keen goal kickers. Yes we have kozzzy but now seem to want to put him into the midfield to create energy and run … “rob Peter to pay Paul is the saying”!! Apart from Kozzzy, Chandler and Spargo are well below other small forwards in the league. Chandler has had one good game and has been average in others. Spargo offers 5 minutes with one or two cameo efforts but can’t jump, has no pace, no tackling and doesn’t score goals (must delist at year end).

Aside from needing to find a key tall forward, the search for an energetic quick small forward should be on our recruiting menu.

I don’t blame them - they’ve been showing signs of going to the next level for a while now without actually doing it and last night was a big opportunity to do so.

It was certainly winnable (or should’ve been) based on some of their recent form.

I’d love the tea on that trade. There’s got to be a reason they were so happy to get rid of him

It's not hard to understand ...he plays for himself. Culture killer.

The best clubs understand that a team is a mix of people and personalities as much as football or positional abilities.

The pies are very strong and well run club and have a bold FD that act on what they are seeing.

He's been OK at the Hawks in a team they were trying to inject personality into. Now they're getting serious he'll fall by the wayside.

Giants with 2 goals in 3 quarters

Rely on Hogan much? they are rubbish without him

Nibbler just interviewed post Giants game…dropped the word ‘learnings’ 🤣

Gosh this has been poor by the giants

Buggered up my Footy Tips 😡

The entire pre game team for the Tigers game have laid into Balta for his violent assault and saying its wrong he is playing after 5 games out

Whilst I don't disagree with this, where was the outrage when De Goey allegedly forcibly touched a female and beat the hell out of her friend who tried to stick up for her? He GOT ZERO WEEKS!

Is it just coz it happened overseas and we have footage? He was sitting in a NT jail cell!

And no-one has the balls to mention it on TV. Absolute disgrace the Pies and and the AFL

Wonder who GC paid to design the invisible logo on their guernsey?

they paid some a holes a couple mil to do their 're brand' a 2 year old could do better

I swear the umpires feel like they're dealing with children some games with the pushing, fighting & the dobbing.

But the way lynch is going he's likely to do something stupid & get himself rubbed out which is fine

It's a homage to their invisible fans

Seriously though, who could predict red on red might not look great?

Should've included a sunset clause.

Gee Tom lynch is giving it to the opposition tonight & I guess clubs have now worked out you can easily get into Mac Andrews head

Is he not the highest paid player in the league or thereabouts? Very few defenders lose their head as much as him...if any

Wait really? Mac Andrews is one of the highest paid defenders or players? Either is extremely surprising

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
