Dees. First two of second qtr… game on. Then Giants put on 3 goals against the breeze. Too easy.

Culley to Fritsch. Goal. Good contested mark … but why do players go off after a goal. It’s so fucjed!!!

Jefferson doesn't have much of a game below his knees

Nor anywhere else.

Fritsch, Van Rooyen 1 kick ,Jeffo spending time in defence MADNESS

Van Rooyen , was a Buy, now a Sell.

I think we all missed seeing him as what he really is , “lumbering” , “moving in a slow, heavy, awkward way”.

Literally has 0 weapons, needs to be trialled as a key defender next summer

Kentfield has shown good mits behind the ball

Van Rooyen totally out of confidence just went up a week before the ball got to him

Culley's next snap gets marked on the line. What's to come is almost inevitable.

Lazy… Culley was poor. Two golden chances to get us closer

Better quarter and dominated the last ten minutes but wasted too many chances.

HT Casey Demons 4.5.29 UWS Giants 9.1.55

Goals Baldi Fritsch Johnson Sestan

Disposals Bonner 14 Billings Sestan 13 Baldi Culley 12

The question is whether Casey has thefitness and ability to come back from an almost five goal deficit.

Why are they trying to play fritta as a high half forward. He has played his best footy playing deep. If it ain’t broke dont fix it(it may be broke tho)

Hard to know if it’s just lack of confidence or uncertainty, but the Casey decision-making across the board is just dumb. They look like a bunch of dumb footballers, but I’ll stay glass half full and go with the former assessment. Apart from that, their tackling, kicking, marking and handballing is horribly inferior. So all the things making good footy. Geez this club is living under dark grey clouds. Where-when will we see the glimmer of light?????

Worst team to play against in the VFL when you have no confidence. Those two are starting defenders at most clubs. No need to overreact.

Youre making out as if they are Matthew Scarlett..

One is hasn't even played a game at AFL level at For 3 years and another just the 12 games next to his name.

On exposure Van Rooyen has played 44 games and kicked 62 goals at AFL level. It's simple, if he was desperate for to win his spot he'd be making a statement.

So far his statement is the 2 disposals for two whole quarters at VFL level.

Glimmer of light sounds like a near death experience, which is not far from the truth.

BOG so far.

I'd get him in next week.

To have any chance of winning this they'll need to leave AJ in as the main ruck and change with Verral (for the chop out) off the bench or rest Verral forward if Rooh needs the odd break

Madness. Verrall is breaking even most of the time – AJ is getting mauled by Madden who is not a pretend giant. He would beat most AFL rucks at CB, but is a bit too slow around the ground.

It would be nice for some wingers and midfielders to keep the ball in our Forward line.

Since his back spasms in the first minute of the practice match vs Fremantle, he hasn’t been the player he was in 2023 and 2024. I would rest him for a few weeks to find out what his problem is - I can’t see him turning things around at the moment.

Code red. Code red. Clear. Anyone at Casey got a defibrillator handy?

If they stopped butchering the ball. And worked out which way the wind was blowing. They might be a chance.

Maybe it’s a tactic so that GWS will be out on their feet from over running? It’s not like our guys have used all their energy in the first half?

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
