I guess we just have to have faith. We have a new coach and the fortunes or attitudes of our players improve markedly next year. Hopefully our recruiters will work out a great resolution for the current Trac business, either way. I think binman says he tries his best to not fret too much about trade rumours/eventual trades and I concur. We can do nothing asmere fans. Our team's fortune will improve some time and for all we know King is a gun and Petracca watches on as Melbourne win the flags from 2028-30 while his new team, even if regular finalists, loses a GF how Geelong just did and otherwise is on holiday every time come.mid-September

It will be pick 29 for McVee if Neal-Bullen was a pick in the mid 20's McVee is certainly in the mid 20's.

An article in the HeraldSun... some sort of new interest in Trac.

Behind paywall 🤷‍♂️🤔

Have lost complete respect for him if true! Old school you sign a contract you honour it on both sides club & player! Hope the Players Association is happy with the circus they have created

Like Grundy and Treloar being shafted and sent packing with 4+ years left on big deals against their will?

I agree with you but it goes both ways and times have changed

Here we go. Demonland is true to form. Pages and pages of vitriol to one of the club's greatest players. Especially the happy clappers who always think everything is rosey at the club. Then when a player wants to leave, they turn on the player.

For Petracca wanting to leave, then that's on the club. Our culture was putrid.

Unless we get the right deal, hold him to his contract. But I have no faith in Tim Lamb, so I can see us getting screwed over by the Crows.

If Trac leaves, he'll be remembered as a key part of the only flag in my lifetime.

Wow, you bagged DL, posters that bag Trac, the 'happy clappers' and the club

Really picking a side there bud. But I guess it's easier just to throw mud.

I would much rather see us trade for less in picks and keep our cap clear. We can find good players lower in the draft.

Gold Coast is the new (old) interest. Better placed picks in the draft

Imagine Trac playing in front of below 10k crowd that will help his profile

Who knows with that sort of stuff, not my cup of tea

What we now know for sure is that he's definitely on the move

As for what we get in return, if we stand firm, it's going to cost a pretty penny for any would-be suiter

However, I reckon @layzie will be closest to the pin on the matter ... i.e. we probably won't get in return what we think is a rightful trade

At some stage the club needs this issue to go away. 2 off-seasons in a row, there can't be a 3rd

Do we prefer offloading his contract and getting not much in return?

Or

Paying some contract and getting better picks?

Because both will not happen

He is no longer a top 5 player in the league and far from it

We should stand firm, but King would want this done for clean air , how would you deal with him having to come back into the list to play next year when is not fully committed??

I'm pretty indifferent on Trac staying or going. With a new reign beginning under King, I can see an upside on both sides of the equation.

I certainly won't lose any sleep about Melbourne's most expensive butcher becoming Adelaide's most expensive butcher.

What I do care about is a fair deal. Lamb will no doubt focus on Petracca's past achievements compared to his future potential when it comes to negotiations. I can't see a deal being done unless there's a player component if I'm being honest. Did you know Josh Worrell is from Vic? 😅

I’m going to boo our only Norm Smith Medallist at some point next year. Dee’s really unleashing hell here.

Lots of questions need to be asked of how we manage to stuff up our only Norm Smith Medalist! I’m disappointed in Trac also as the other leaders are not jumping ship and instead of being part of the solution he wants out, the selfless has gone!

Fagan spoke about brotherhood amongst the playing group, hope King can develop this and feel for him losing a player like Trac, why would he want to keep him now, what message is that sending to the group, it’s not team it’s Me, Me, Me,

This post seems contradictory

The selfless has gone but the majority of the team want to stay? Perhaps Trac is the selfish one? Not sure how we have stuffed this up

I would have loved Trac to be that selfless leader to get us through this hard time and show the young guys the way to go. But it seems he is showing his true colours and the fact we are now ok with him doing it, says a lot

Same way we did it this year.

October to March is a long time in footy

This time last year, Kozzi, Trac and Clarry were all gone

Pay some of his contract to get maximum value back.

Were trying to bank wins, not money.

I'm a definite fan of Petracca the player (despite his erratic kicking) but I'm beginning to have serious doubts about Petracca the clubman.

He's been messing us about for too long now.

Unless the club is on board with him touring the Crows' facilities, he should just **** off, and take his mega-salary with him. No [censored] thank you very much. A single round one is sufficient if we cut out the cancer.

I have no facts or knowledge with this, but if GC are chasing JUH, with their army of Key Fwds, is there a rabbit in this hat?

I don’t think for second this is new to the club or AFL industry that Trac wants to leave and now it is amicable. Could the club have been working on a trade for a while?

I’m suspicious Trac has been seen in Adelaide today as well. Too convenient.

My thinking too. In what world do GCS need JUH with King, Walter and Read in the mix? Unless of course one is going..

It’s kinda strange and possibly more moving parts are to come out.

Look, I didn’t want to have to do this, but it is time to take a stand.

If Trac leaves I’m gonna have no choice but to unfollow OnTrac5 and find a new purveyor of quick, easy, high protein weeknight dinner recipes.

It hurts me, but if Trac is no longer a Demon I simply cannot and will not support his chicken fajitas or pesto chicken flatbreads anymore.

(Thank you for your attention to this matter)

There’s a butcher x Lamb line to be had somewhere in there…but I can’t quite land it.
