Essendon and Carlton both winning would be the worst start possible to this round. Got an ominous sort of feeling about it for tomorrow.

Ok

Halftime quick question.

What type of players were/ are you?

You've just received the ball ot 25 m from goal with nobody near you for thirty m.

Do you dribble it through or smash it into the top stand?

I think you already know the answer Deevs

Hit the post. Possibly with both the ball and then myself.

In fact, yeah, my two options would be hit the post or slip during the kick and not even make the distance.

Will be fun to see who is left by round 19 against the giants. But, hey, you never know, the Bombers have been on the cusp of a big upswing for about 13 years...

And these low crowds against low drawing interstate teams are quite common ... Hawks, North, Demons, Bulldogs & Saints have had to sell them off to balance the books

But low crowds at Docklands never looks 3/4 empty as do the same sized crowds at the MCG

Bombers have got 80k-90k members with an enormous supporter base ... so 25k for them is pitiful

Footnote: To not have a 3rd boutique-type stadium in a City with 9/10 teams is baffling. Princes Park was the ideal venue but the horse has probably bolted

Sanders is looking a tad better so far this season. Seems to have found his legs, poise and mojo

Young Darcy has an edge about him

Imagine his impact with a bit more bulk after another few pre-seasons

Four umps and not one saw the full on jumper tug lol

ump was looking straight at it

A much better spectacle than last night’s diarrhoea

If a player just watches the ball go ob, how is that not insufficient intent on his part?

Thinking it's time AstroNaught was renamed Nought

I thought he just resigned

Oh what a shame to see Cripps hurt himself after launching his knee between naughton's shoulders.

Took an ump 40 meters away from the play to call that obvious incorrect disposal against the Blues

Umpires call is a goal. Completely inconclusive on the footage but the Blues get the benefit of the doubt ....again.

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.

It's Game Day, and reinforcements are finally arriving for the Demons—but will it be too little, too late? They're heading down the freeway to face a Cats side returning home to their fortress after two straight losses, desperate to reignite their own season. Can the Demons breathe new life into their campaign, or will it slip even further from their grasp?

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.
