Quick thoughts:
- Nobody played well (No Chandler PR please)
- Count the broken tackles and fine them a $1000 for each one.
- Count every turnover that led to a scoring shot and fine them a $1000 for each one ($2000 if Comben was the one who intercepted it)
- Count every attempted fend off or shrug off that didn't break the tackle and fine them a $1000 for each one.
- Gawn can't 1 man ruck anymore
- 4 seasons with no key forward trades
- I'm so glad we traded our first round pick for no reason
- Why Langford is omitted for Spargo/Woewodin I'll never know

All money accumulated from fines can go to Jim Stynes foundation. Season's over and it's round 2 but what did anyone expect. Our premiership hopes relied on a forward line of Daniel Turner and Jacob Van Rooyen.

No Chandler PR? What are you talking about. Only bloke out there having a massive crack.

Also worth stating that I was bitterly disappointed in Rooey’s game today.. it says something when we really missed AJ, a first year mature age recruit. When it was clear the ball wasn’t coming to him he just needed to be hitting packs, bringing the ball to ground and giving us a chance inside 50. Failed to do it.. felt like he was looking for the easy option a lot

Id give him a spell in backline

No problem with that but give him support

You mean like Brodie Grundy, Tom Campbell and Aiden Johnson support?

Poor form by Goodwin, just say Gawn had an off day. All this does is create gossip.

Agreed thats a coach doing the opposite of protecting one of is best players. Instead he's now opened up Gawn and everyone around him for media hassling. Not to mention the pundits will be all over his comments. Was such an easy one to diminish and move on.

I'm sure he didn't mean this and was probably frustrated but not a good look.

Yeah and now poor Max has to deal with speculation.  Now slime bag morris & McClure will do some digging

The turnovers from Langdon and Bowzer were jaw-droppingly bad because they were just plain lazy and resulted in easy goals and seemed to deflate the team.

An appalling performance.

We had the ball on slingshot repeatedly in the third quarter (when the margin was still 2-3 goals), and I reckon Viney had it 4 times on those slingshots and his entries were not AFL standard. Long kicks to the advantage of a 2 or 3 vs 1 in our forwardline.

We then proceeded to have a starting midfield in the first 10 mins of the last that was Sparrow, Chandler and Viney. We are not going to win many games with those guys in there.

Viney needs to play majority forward, bring his pressure and his surprising goal nous, but his ball use in the midfield is a killer.

And the way we dropped away in the last 40 minutes of football was alarming.

Chandler played well, Howes did a couple of good things, Bowey (aside from that clanger) was good, Spargo was handy at times, and that was about it.

The missed tackles (particularly in the midfield), the poor groundball (with the exception of Clarry).

The leadership group need to have a really good hard look at themselves. When momentum went against us not a single player stood up.

Oh for gods sake..  this is not only poor by Goodwin but absolutely disrespectful to Xerri who absolutely pansted Gawn. Just own it and move on.

If its personal then don't mention anything and just say he had a bad day at the office.

Watch every journo all flock in at once to grab a headline.

That attempted bounce and subsequent fumble by Woey with a man right in his face… good lord!

And it was a fantastic lead and kick to him. As good as any of either we've done in recently memory except for the all-important bit about holding onto it.

Plus he got a great block on Corr who was all over him all day. So frustrating.

JVR should not be out number one key forward.

He's an ok young key forward, but he has always struggled to create separation. Our kicking to him a part of that but he doesn't know how or when to lead. Doesn't quite have the burst the best forwards have, and beyond that doesn't kick goals enough ways to be a 50-60 goal a year forward. If he isn't getting set shots, he's not in the play.

Has time, but needs to start improving.

Sort of my point really.. if he’s not getting separation then at least don’t get outmarked. Put your knee in the back of someone.. just don’t let them mark it and bounce straight back out.

From what I understand about AJ, you can rely on him to do that!

Desperate plea to "leave us alone" , a coach who isnt under pressure doesnt do this.

Like to hear thoughts on our forward line positioning. I think the way the forward are being forced to set up is disgraceful and has destroyed all their confidence.

It’s like buying a packet of lollies, showing it to your toddler and saying ‘hey I’m going to hide these in this draw, I’m not going to say anything else about it’, haha

Um Clarry?????, and yes Chandler good...

 For a change!

Unless Trac has Sphyilis or the like I do not excuse that performance

Just heard Goodwin presser only a portion was played around Gawn having a personnel issue but wouldn’t  go into it saying everyone has a back story

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
